Samsung Galaxy Tablet

Recommended Posts

There are multiple music apps available.

I use winamp, you can't change the text size on that one but the text is about 5mm high and buttons are 10 x 10mm.

I've used a player before (mortplayer) that has a car mode which you would probably suit what you need :)

I do :) its surprisingly faster than my galaxy s.

I knew that froyo would have made some speed increases but thought the higher resolution would offset that, but it seems not to be.

There is a little motion ghosting in the screen that I've noticed, but I'm not too fused about that.

Here is a benchmarking of the Galaxy Tab's Cortex A8 against competitors. Explains why you are feeling the speed.

I was comparing it against my Samsung Galaxy S though, which has the same processor.

They potentially could have overclocked it for the tab though.

"rear-facing 3.0-megapixel camera"

Why have a smaller camera on the bigger version?

Weird, considering HTC Trophy 7 has 5M camera in it. OK, quality is pretty crap compared to my real Canon camera but you'd think anything under 5Mpixel is a bit stingy.

Because in the real world, anything greater than 3M isn't really needed by the average Joe. And if greater image quality is going to be achieved with a 3M sensor than a greater number, then that's a very smart move. Ignore the megapixel wankery and get better images.

Provided it is a better quality chip of course. If it's still a crap sensor, then it's a very bizarre move.

Do they have a car-dock for the Galaxy Tab? with the new Google Maps/Navigation, it'd be awesome for driving directions (Been doing the same with my TTTT)

I am looking at picking up a Galaxy Tab tomorrow, does anyone here who owns one do any phone calling or sms on theirs? Missus wants one too but still wants to use it as a phone (part time, just the occasional calls)

Would love some recommendations on excellent apps too if someone could point me in the right direction.

Only thing turning me off the 10.1v is the lack of SD/MicroSD port.

Otherwise I'd get one. I had a play with one at work (running Honeycomb) when the Samsung rep stopped by.

Noel Leemings

Just finished charging mine - why the hell didn't I go Android before I am in geek heaven there is just so much to do.

Already found a video program with proper mpc style mkv and Anime subtitle support too, been watching Steins Gate in 720p and its awesome.

The reviews for the device were a mixture of positive and negative but I can't see why anyone would be unhappy with it, its just so responsive and the screen is so bloody gorgeous.

EDIT: Fail comprehension

i dont know whats going on here:

$529 Samsung P1000 http://www.mobicity.com.au/samsung-galaxy-tab.html

$399 Samsung P1000T http://www.mobicity.com.au/samsung-galaxy-...000t-nextg.html

the only difference in the specs is the cheaper one does NexG. WTF?????

is the Telslut one the P1000T?

is it only 8GB?

Checking the links, it looks the only difference is that the P10000T is NextG compatible, while the other one isn't.

They both say 16GB

Best tech purchase I've made in years, me and the missus both have one and we practically live on them.
