SLI help

Recommended Posts

so you want to run SLI GTX480's in 2 slots and a GTX295 in a 3rd slot?

is the 295 just for extra screens? if it is just get a cheap 8400gs or something.

Got 1 of each card. Just got the 480 but the 580 has just come out. Thinking about picking it up.

But I also have the older 295 and a water block.

Thought about just putting the 2 in SLI for a little more power.

im not sure about SLI with the new cards but with Crossfire you can have two cards from the same series (say a 5850 and 5870,both 5xxx series cards) but with nvidia it has to be the same card (can be from diffrent brand and can be Overclocked)

sell your GTX 295 or put into another PC and get another GTX 480 and SLI them.

Cheers jdog. Been thinking about it. But no one wants to pay over 300. I rekon it was one of if not the best Nvidia card released.

anyway, looking for free temp monitoring software.

GPU-Z monitors GPU temps and Realtemp Monitors CPU and GPU temps. Although the GPU monitoring on Realtemp is fairly shit.

so you want to SLI a GTX480 with a GTX580? can't be done as far as I know, PCCG still has some $400 GTX480's though so that would be the go with some of these for blocks http://www.pccasegear.com/index.php?main_p...oducts_id=15529
