Count 0 Posted May 2, 2011 (edited) I keep reading in all the forums how "It's not illegal to own RC content in states outside of WA", but if I go to customs or the federal Ag's website, under importation laws, it says that RC content is not permitted to be imported into the country.... Anyone happen to have any sites/links that state otherwise? And since there hasn't been any seizures yet, I may just go and order myself a few copies from play-asia this week. From what I'm told, FedEx and play-asia, all they do is mark the box as "computer software". apparently couriers have an easier time getting through customs then registered post. Reb1rth. 0 Posted May 2, 2011 (edited) Blarg, mine didn't arrive today like it should have... fucken Aus Post. DO YOUR JOB! It's only coming from 3 hours north of my location! Edited May 2, 2011 by Reb1rth.
Count 0 Posted May 3, 2011 Did the imported copies kombat passes with with your australian XBL accounts or did you have to create new ones? I'm curious as to whether something from NZ or singapore would work on an Aussie account. (From what I've heard, the Kombat passes do not work on any German or Australian XBL accounts)
Gharphield 4 Posted May 3, 2011 I dare say most people will be looking to getting the PS3 version as its region free (and comes with an extra character!). But I, like Count, would be interested to know this.
mulder 0 Posted May 3, 2011 Try this As an aussie, how would one get my Xbox mk version online? 1) Create US account on xbox.com 2) Sign in to US account on your 360 3) Activate online with code 4) Switch back to your Australian account 5) Play I have been told it works a treat . So... in other words, to answer my question, "No, Kombat passes do not work on Austrailan XBL accounts". Having to create a second account, and possibly get gold access, just for a single game... seems an incredible waste of time and effort to me.
Reb1rth. 0 Posted May 4, 2011 Do you really need a gold account just to get access to DLC? That's a bit whack if you do.

Reb1rth. 0 Posted May 4, 2011 Well, I am starting to think that an Aus Post employee has stolen my two copies of MK. They were sent from Shepparton, 2.5-3 hours north of Melbourne on Friday... and they're still not here (Brunswick, Melbourne). I am raging pretty hard right now. I hope they're just late, and not "missing".

peteed1985 0 Posted May 4, 2011 Ok I rang the customs phone and asked. This is for NSW but some other states are the same. 1.) It is illegal to import RC'd games. 2.) It is legal to own an RC'd game as long as you didn't import it. 3.) It is illegal to sell/re-sell an RC'd game. $.) It is illegal to show an RC'd game to a minor. What this means is if you can find an aussie shop selling mortal kombat 9 in NSW at least then you are not breaking the law. Only the shop selling to you and whoever imported it are breaking the law. Gharphield 4 Posted May 4, 2011 Umm no, not according to your post: 2.) It is legal to own an RC'd game as long as you didn't import it. Unless you worded that wrong. Also I keep hearing different crap from Customs as opposed to their official stance in writing. No wonder people are confused!
Reb1rth. 0 Posted May 4, 2011 (edited) Give em a call and find out man. With an unregistered package (yes, I know, my friend is an idiot for posting unregistered) -- if it leaves (or doesn't leave, if somebody took it before it left the building), am I right to assume they have no idea it even exists, and have absolutely no way to find it? EDIT: Fucking 6:30pm mail delivery? Since when?! Oh well, I am glad they arrived unharmed. Australia Post can stay on my good side... for now! (Dun dun duuuuuuun) Edited May 4, 2011 by Reb1rth. No that is worded right :) you are legally allowed to own it in NSW even though it was imported illegally by whoever sold it to you theres no law against owning it. Reb1rth. 0 Posted May 5, 2011 Not quite... :P One of those copies is for my old housemate!
Timmeh 0 Posted May 6, 2011 What do you know mine turned up for the Xbox 360 yesterday. It had an invoice on the outside of the package folded up (luckily) that had Mortal Kombat written on it. Also in the package it had a sticker (with name, address, consignment #) which was meant to be stuck to the outside that had Mortal Kombat on it too. The label on the outside with my name and address said , game software only. @Reb1rth mine took longer than expected and I feared the worse but it arrived. Don't worry. When the kids are in bed I'll unwrap it and kill a few kombatants.
Ashlar 0 Posted May 16, 2011 (edited) [oop, was so excited I didn't actually finish the post and submit it!] WOOOOOOOOTT!! Order from GAME UK 10 days ago (from last Friday)... They said 6 - 10 days, and Friday it rocked up, right when I was starting to get a little antsy about it potentially get pinched. The front of the packaging just said "computer software" but if you looked closely on the packing slip that was on the bnack of the package, you could see that it said "Mortal Kombat". Luckily they didn't look that closely! :D It fucking rocks so far, the SP story mode is sooo much better than the last MKs I played (Deception and Deadly Alliance). Am up to Chapter 6 at the moment, having a blast. Played a bit of MP with my housemates too. But since I have it on PS3 it'll only be local multiplayer for now, thanks to PSNfail. >_< Not that i mind, I've rarely gamed online with my PS3 since I bought it... -A- Edited May 16, 2011 by Ashlar
Reb1rth. 0 Posted May 16, 2011 All good Ashlar, PSN is coming back up tonight or tomorrow. I'm curious to see if we can play directly with people on our friends lists, or if it's blind matchmaking like I recall ranked Tekken 6 being (laggy shiiiiiiiit). Morgoth 15 Posted May 17, 2011 My roomie has a PS3, I'm thinking of getting this soon. Before I moved in, I was going to buy a PS3 just for this game :P
SquallStrife 545 Posted October 26, 2011 (edited) I bought my copy at GameStop in Las Vegas, and walked right through customs with it yesterday morning around 9. They don't give a shit, it seems. Edited October 26, 2011 by SquallStrife
