Always did like the Mini. It's a pretty agricultural piece, though, so when I got to the higlighted bit I had a bit of a WTF moment. What ECU? They were before even pollution controls - ordinary old carbies were the ants whiskers at the time.

Ye was wondering about the ECU myself. Must have been re-engined for it to have one.

Specs matt, specs.

and damn it is in good nick from that photo.

She is a 93 mini No real changes from the 1959 mini apart from Fuel injection and automatic transmission!

Sameish engine and door hinges have been hidden..

Specs are as follows:

1.4Ltr Single port injected engine

55hp as new with the mods and tunable ECU maybe about 65hp ill need to dyno her

Specialist components TYPHOON mappable ECU with software ( i have no idea how to drive it)

RC-40 twin up swept exhaust

95amp alternator

K & N air filter

Angel eyes have now been changed to LED ones

AIRCON!!!

real time gps tracking

all parts were original from 1993 till i got my hands on her.

After speaking to a few guys i have found out there are between 20-28 of my model in the country. And there are currently 2 known in Victoria.

I gave her a nice wash and wax today and drove her to the city.

The accelerator cable snapped on the way home and got stuck waiting 4 hours for a tow :/

Fantastic, I bought 2 bottles, I'll head back there tomorrow and buy all the rest of his stock. The 7% kick is a nice bonus.

looking to upgrade the crap out of it :)

It's Apple, and one of the RISC-based ones at that... can't be that much crap to upgrade out of it.

The door hinges became hidden from the MkIII onwards.

And yeah, she's in nice shape. Not quite as nice as when I thought it was a pre '70s model, but still much better than the run-of-the-mill 18-year-old car. ;)

This thread has been an educational experience for me. I assumed that the original Mini had ceased production sometime in the '80s... Certainly, I hadn't seen any obviously new ones from that time on. They kept going until 2000ish, apparently. Also, how did they get those things through crash testing? That design was hardly upto snuff with impact energy dispersal or passenger cell intrusion, let alone all the airbags and stuff required in this century - whch is why the new Mini is such a bloated thing.

"Buffy: The Vampire Slayer - Season 8", volume 8 just arrived. (Pre-ordered in January though!)

Man, you always remind me of stuff I've been meaning to buy. I had all the volumes in the cart on bookdepository, but didn't do it for some reason. Only like $130 total or something for well over a thousand pages of one of my favourite verses.

Today was my birthday, so not purchases, but I got a nice padded guitar rack thing for all my basses so they don't have to lay/lean strewn around my room. Scored some dodgy home-made weight plates, god weights are proving hard to find. And a nice little toolbox that's sure to come in handy.
