did you find you had to alter anything else, or just the BCLK? I've tried changing mine to 100.5/101/102 etc. and it doesn't boot at anything but 100.00. :(

nice score mate, good to see more contributions. i think you'll find there is limited gain from overclocking the 2500k though. My 3dMark11 score only increased by about 500 points going from 4.6 to 5.2.

ive found with mine u to see any real world gain going past 4.6 u also need 1600mhz ram, im running the 1333 cas7 F3 X ripjaws and going past 4.6, even upto 5ghz i see less than 200 points difference, but uping the ram to 1600 and beyond then i see a noticeable difference, my single 3dmark11 single GTX460 score didnt break 4k unless i had cpu at 4.6 and ram at 1600. when i ran 5ghz and 1333 i only got 3990 or 4005 (with gpus at default clocks). I found across multiple benchmarks that 4.6, ram 1600/cas8, and gpu at peak OC that there was a clear sweet spot for performance. I also found 4.8, and 1600 gave less score and a drop in fps over all. the 4455 3dmark single gpu score i managed has since been beaten by a score of 4502 but i forgot to post the link here and lost it. :(

If ur running 1866 or 2k+ ram i feel that's the only time u will benefit from going beyond 4.6 especially if ur running previous gen gpus that depend a lot more on the cpu.

@osama_bin_athlon

could u run a single card for 3dmark11 performance. id like to compare the difference between your system and mine since they r relatively similar.

yeh, I'm running 8G 2133Mhz G.Skill Ripjawsx - only $30 odd difference.......

yeh, I'll try and get around to it, p0is0n - i don't really like/want to start pulling my comp apart, tho........

were you looking at overclocked? I never really pushed it (like didn't get to artifacting, so I'm assuming that I can go higher :) ) do you want me to?

the Asus variation of the GTX560, with the fancy schmancy cooling are great little cards, i'm glad that I didn't get another ATI/AMD card, or fork out the extra for a couple of GTX560Ti's

I like them.

You should be able to check it out by disabling SLI in the nvidia control panel. No need to pull one out. (I think).

However disabling sli without removing a card will slightly lower your single card score, I noticed this from testing my 480s, I think it was about 100 points less, must be some overheads or something??

if ur mobo limited u to 8x when running 2+ cards that will make a tiny difference on high end cards but my 460s i actually got a lower score with the single card installed, over both installed. even know the 2nd did nothing for those specific tests. no idea why :/

from what ive read the 560 is just a updated 460 anyway just clocks speeds a minor changes. so id expect from a single card about 4900-5200 or there about guessing from ur SLI score. id just like to see how different compared to my insane clocks.

thought id run a few of the tests p0is(+)n hasnt yet

crap stalker score but nice metro score

didnt like running vantage at those clocks locked up during the second test

it was a fairly cold morning under 15c in the room and i had the 220cfm delta on the gpu to see if it made any difference but no

gpuv was at 1200mv

memory seems to start throwing the odd artifact around 1856mhz

Nice results Dasa, unfortunately I don't have those games to try. I might actually have metro on steam but never installed it. I'm till trying to figure out how to get my memory to go above 1790 - seems to be the limit for afterburner (tried -xcl but didn't change anything). Seems rock solid at 1790 so hoping to get it a little bit higher.

I am going to try GPU tweak since I currently have ASUS on my second BIOS and failing that, will try MSI bios (since I need MSI bios for the current 7970 hwbot comp anyway) and see how I do there.. I saw some 1700 core clocks on HWBOT from 7970.. that's almost 100% OC, it's pretty much on par with crossfire from a single card.

I don't think I can get the core any higher than 1280-1290 even at 1300mv which is a little disappointing. I got it off uncle fester at ocau and he said he hit 1550 on ln2 with it and 1300 on air. Maybe I need more powah somehow.

Edit: just remembered still need to play with power control in CCC... have you touched that yet Dasa?

yeah card used more power from the wall but that was all that seemed to change

but then my card becomes less stable with 1300mv and anything between 1200-1275mv seems to make no difference

since nobody with a amd card ran the stalker tests to see how each performed a while back i guess its time to see how the 7970 handles it at stable clocks vs gtx480 sli at stable clocks

Interesting, so I should change rules to all HBAO then??

I just got home from work, I'll update this if I get a minute.

Thanks for running those tests.

making all hbao would save invalidating all the current nvidia results otherwise i would probably go with hdao ultra cs just as long as the settings are the same for both should be fine i guess

the newer cat 12.4 beta driver seems to have helped 7970 performance a bit

only problem i have with them sofar is that a overclock set with afterburner will reset to default clocks part way threw a benchmark but only does this once after every reboot

Updated.

@mods - That score is scary close to beating the pair of 560's OBA has, you need to squeeze more out of that 2500k! Well done

@Dasa - Those are wicked scores, also looks like the FPS is much more stable than sli 480's, especially in Metro.

IMO I'd rather drop a couple of average fps if it's smoother.

thanks mate and yeah i hadent noticed in metro just how spiky the gtx480 was by comparison till then that graph realy works well

also you made a booboo :)

I should really try something other than 3d 11 every time. its so much quicker than 06 or vantage though, each test is about 30s compared to 2m.
