Two free 3DMARK Advanced to the next 2 FireStrike submitted here. If you have already submitted FireStrike, submit 2 benchmarks that you haven't submitted to yet, example Valley & Heaven. If you submitted to all already, beat 2 of your scores! If your major hardware has changed like cpu or video card, you can submit FireStrike only then again. Steam required, have fun :-)

Unigine Valley: Single GPU

1180/FPS: 28.2 nobody813 - Core i5 2500K@3.3GHz(a) - GTX 570@732/950(a)

Unigine Heaven; Single GPU

1061 nobody813 - Core i5 2500K@3.3GHz(a) - GTX 570@732/950(a)

Ignore the Intel GPU in the 2nd pic, doesn't seem to show my GTX 570. I guess that's an issue with the older version of this (I think they're up to 4.0 now)

The HD7950 is gone,..R9-290 filled the shoes.

3DMark's Firestrike

9165 drawesome - Core i7 2600K@4.0GHz(a) - R9-290@1040/1250(a)

http://www.3dmark.com/3dm/2344097

Was using 13.11 drivers at the time, don't know why the VGA thing happened...

Went to 14.1, crapped out on occasion, back to 13.12 officials.

/Edit

However the above result is the one offered within the time frame of above said posts.

Now I'm going for the stable OC on the GPU with even more pumped out on the CPU,.. a different clock setup, so I'm going to do a run through of All Futuremarks involved, and Heaven/Valley also and will make a new post instead of re-editing this one.

RIP GTX 570

EDIT: For now I'm back to either old DirectX 9 or 10 cards, or use my integrated graphics. Might see how "good" they are :-P

Card powers up as normal, but doesn't display anything, nor does it show up in Device Manager when another card is used with it. I believe my RMA PSU is the cause. Either that or an annoying cooincidence Edited by nobody813

Yeah mate, tried different ports, HDMI and VGA adaptors, different PCIe slots, and different PC's. All do the same thing

Anybody willing to take over the thread after I update one more time?

I would put my hand up for it. Im a bench nerd and i love doing this kind of thing. But to be honest I'm finding myself coming to these forums less and less now as time goes on. This might be my 2nd visit this year. This is also really the only thread I even read as well. It seems 80% of the people who post here are a very select few and maybe the odd new user every now and then. Bit sad, I really miss being active here talking about all the old Magazine things etc. I don't even have it booked marked anymore and i keep forgetting my password everytime i come here haha.

The thread will be updated in the coming days to include the latest results. This silly new handler needs to learn the ropes :-P

Updated! DrAwesome has really shot up on most of the benchmarks!

Redesign and cleanup will (hopefully) be done this weekend, but I'll make sure to save a backup of how it is now just in case it turns out bad :-P

Doing some benches with my system tonight

EDIT: Here they are. Will be interesting to see how having a HD 5870 and overclocked differs to a stock CPU and my old GTX 570

3DMark Firestrike

3315 nobody813 - Core i5 2500K@4.5GHz(a) - HD 5870 850c/1200m(a)

v

3727 nobody813 - Core i5 2500K@3.3GHz(a) - GTX 570@732/950(a)

3DMark 11

P4683 nobody813 - Core i5 2500K@4.5GHz(a) - HD 5870 850c/1200m(a)

v

P5716 nobody813 - Core i5 2500K@3.3GHz(a) - GTX 570@732/950(a)

3DMark Vantage

P20707 nobody813 - Core i5 2500K@4.5GHz(a) - HD 5870 850c/1200m(a)

v

P20961 nobody813 - Core i5 2500K@3.3GHz(a) - GTX 570@732/950(a)

So, overclocking my CPU helps in some areas, but isn't enough to make up the GPU difference :-P

And to finish this benchmark session off, here's 3DMark 06

3DMark 06

27783 nobody813 - Core i5 2500K@4.5GHz(a) - HD 5870 850c/1200m(a)

Can't believe how much CPU's effect this benchmark! Overclocking my CPU added 4299 to my previous score

Haven't had a chance to look over much yet to see where DrAwesome landed, thx for updating! Yea some benchmarks are very cpu dependant. I might have a go soon since there's been a few driver updates lately :-)

I also did some benchmarks with my mates GTX 480 and HD 5970, so will post them here soon. While both of them were generally quicker than what I have, I think I'll stick with the old Radeon :-P

P16399 gamble - 3770k 5.0ghz(w) / EVGA SC GTX Titan @ 1.325v 1300c/3600m(w)

I probably could run it just a bit more... going to give it another go :)

Edit:

This is what I can get, maybe just a slight bit more if I messed around a bit more but I think that will do it:

P16431 gamble - 3770k 5.1ghz(w) / EVGA SC GTX Titan @ 1.325v 1287c/3700m(w)

I lowered the core clock down a notch and raised the memory clock up 100mhz and upped the cpu 100mhz. Cant get both the core and the memory up at the same time with the cpu up at 5.1ghz. What else is strange is before I was able to run the gpu at 1.350v but now wont go over 1.325v. I think if I wanted to get more I would need to flash the gpu bios again since before I could get that pretty consistent. Its not really worth messing with though. Ive been gaming at 1.275 @ 1250c/3400m and the core would dip to 1.250v at times and basically it likes to run at the same ratio to the core and the volts. Meaning if I want 1300c I need 1.300v or 1250c will require 1.250v. Ive flashed it so many times and really like this custom bios Im running now so Ill probably just stick with it :)

I think ameel would have me for sure if he upped the clock on that cpu ;)

Here are some benchmark results I got using my mates GTX 480 and HD 5970, with my recent HD 5870 results for reference purposes. All were done using the system in my signature, but with the CPU clocked at 4.5GHz. I won't likely be adding the GTX 480 and HD 5970 results to the threads OP as I don't have any specific details on clocks as I do not own them. I just did it to see how gen 1 DirectX 11 cards compare on old and new Futuremark benchmarks

3DMark Firestrike

HD 5870 - 3315

GTX 480 - 3016

HD 5970 - 4975

3DMark 11

HD 5870 - P4683

GTX 480 - P5770

HD 5970 - P7307

3DMark Vantage

HD 5870 - P20707

GTX 480 - P20454

HD 5970 - P27815

3DMark 06

HD 5870 - 27783

GTX 480 - 30374

HD 5970 - 30925
