Atomic 3DMark & Game Benchmark Rankings

Recommended Posts

Updated! DrAwesome has really shot up on most of the benchmarks!

Mmmm That tickles my insides... Thanks, Just had a look at the OP, great stuff all round :) Happy with that.

Will be doing more soon also.. Put more effort into my CPU OC and have 4.6Ghz (which I had before but lesser voltage needed to get there)

It can go past 4.8Ghz but on Air cooling its not great for usability as the room heats up a LOT when encoding and stays hot while I'm uploading. Just before bed no doubt.

I also now leave my GPU @ 1100/1300 instead of my stock 1040/1250, not a big increase, but easily made for 24/7 usability. Wanting anything past 1175/1400 needs some extra money put W/C into the system to manage it, which I'm not fussed over.

*Mobo supports Xfire but only 16x and 4x PCIE-2.0 currently. /w my 2600K, If I had a 3570k I'd still be limited with PCIE-Lanes

^ Would YOU buy a new platform or new motherboard, so you can access motherboard features and having extra PCIE lanes to use? Knowing your 2600K is fine for quite some time still... But wanting 2x 290's I'd have to upgrade to a better board for PCIE lanes. Would you stick with your current 2600k/Crossfire @ 16x and 4x, or a newer i5/i7 with 16x and 16/8x abilities?

Loving the new result tables,.. Cheers

Dr.Awesome

I would have said a better board originally, but 1155 boards have all but dried up brand new. PCCG especially is a ghost town for them. I myself was planning on getting an mATX Z77 board, but they're disappeared so my spare rig is stuck with the untweakable B75 chip sadly

Like you said it's made difficult by the fact you still have an excellent CPU. Just a pity all that's available from PCCG for example is the Gigabyte GA-Z77X-UP7, which is rather expensive I guess, when a month or so ago there were multiple Z77 boards under $200 that'd enable you to have 8x/8x CrossfireX like the ASRock board I grabbed for quite cheap (in sig)

sold the titan and bought 2nd hand 290x with a EK water block and made some extra $$ :) Should give similar result in gaming so I thought why not. Cant wait to bench it some :)

Looking forward to it mate!

I've been pretty quiet around this thread as I'm miffed that I'm using a GTX 460... but at least it's better than using my old GTX 275 or integrated graphics :-P

I'll update the OP soon with the new results, maybe once you've done some benching :-)

Hey guys,

Posted my score of my old GTX 670 ages ago and just wanted to update anyone interested. Managed to push my GTX 670 (Gigabyte GV-N670OC-2GD) even further (see below) but then I wanted more grunt. I tossed up investing in a new card but eventually I settled on getting a second GV-N670OC-2GD and going the SLI route. Glad I did. The GTX 670 can be scooped up on eBay for as little as $200- so grab 2 and you can be looking at some brutal numbers for $400. Pretty sweet, new best scores are:

3DMark 11

Single GTX 670 P10431

Dual GTX 670s P16727

Yea man looks like a good investment as you are getting good numbers with the pair ... You should run firestrike too :)

Waiting for a end cap plug for the card I just bought as they only shipped it with one but thats what you get with 2nd hand :/ Replaced all the tubing with black from clear. Looks much better, ordered a fan controller too since I want full control and want to be able to shut them down manually... Guess Im getting sick of fan and might look at new fans later on.

Got the new black tubes in and the 290x is running quite well with the EK block. Temps have not been over 48c as that was the highest Ive seen, going to try BF4 for a bit but guessing it will be under 50c.

Best upgraded though was the 6 channel fan controller, so much quieter now. The core doesnt seem to want to go over 1250mhz even if I up the voltage but the memory seems to be good at 6200mhz from 5000mhz. Not quite as good results compared to the titan but the titan had another 50 - 100mhz higher core clock. Still Im pretty happy with this card :)

FireStrike:

10966 gamble - 3770k 5.1ghz(w) / ASUS 290x @ 1.314v 1222c/6200m(w)

3dmark11:

P16164 gamble - 3770k 5.1ghz(w) / ASUS 290x @ 1.314v 1222c/6200m(w)

Nice work gamble and galaxy!

Galaxi, are you able to post the rest of your system specs, and format your results like gamble? That way I can add those results :-)

Thx man! Yea I found that the 14.4 drivers to fail on me many times. Did a 3rd clean install on the drivers but still was having issues. Tried the beta 14.6 and seems to be running great now. Also killed one of the channels on the fan controller already. It was the one closest to the pwd. The other 5 channels seem to be working so I guess that is fine but kinda crap that one died already. I notice the color looks slightly different in BF4 too compared to nvidia, looks great to me. The game play on BF4 seems really really smooth and Im getting a bit more fps when I clock the core at 1200mhz.

Haven't seen galaxi post in ages, so dunno if we'll be able to add his results

I'll hopefully be doing some benching soon once a 2nd GTX 460 arrives to enable SLI goodness in my PC. Also my Dad and I rejigged the mounting system on my CPU's cooler, so I'll now be able to mount the 2 Corsair SP120's I bought for it. Bit sick of using the stock Intel cooler in the meantime :-P

And once that is done I'll add the new submissions to the OP. I have also made a backup of the OP, in preparation for a possible tidy up and reworking of things. In typical nobody813 fashion this may not eventuate (Index for the rig gallery thread anyone? :-P), but if I keep on it there wikll be something soon :-)

Highest scores I've got so far with kit I own! Although the kit I use is pretty damn old compared to what most post here ;-)

3DMark Firestrike

3976 nobody813 - Core i5 2500K@4.5GHz(a) - 2x GTX 460 1GB SLI 720c/900m(a)

3DMark 11

P6782 nobody813 - Core i5 2500K@4.5GHz(a) - 2x GTX 460 1GB SLI 720c/900m(a)

3DMark Vantage

P26369 nobody813 - Core i5 2500K@4.5GHz(a) - 2x GTX 460 1GB SLI 720c/900m(a)

3DMark 06

31437 nobody813 - Core i5 2500K@4.5GHz(a) - 2x GTX 460 1GB SLI 720c/900m(a)

Eventually I'll see how much higher my CPU will go if I add any volts to it (have it running at stock volts), and clock the 460's a bit too!

Did some more benching this weekend, but didn't really improve on the above scores. Will update the OP soon

Thread updated!

Gamble's Titan continues to break single GPU records in this thread, while nobody's venerable GTX 460's remind us of times gone by... :-P

Speaking of that, is quite interesting when comparing my (nobody813's) scores to modz's scores. Seems I can get a lot more out of them if I clock them a bit. And for those wondering, those GTX 460's were modz's once :-)

News - the latest update of 3dmark13 basic allows for single runs of FireStrike, no more needing to run all tests!

Some R9 290x results, was able to pass the Titan I sold recently with lower OC on the gpu core in 3dmark11. Cant seem to be able to run the cpu at 5.1ghz anymore for any runs...

3dmark11:

P16766 gamble - 3770k@5.0ghz(w) / R9 290x 1265c/6000m(w)

3dmark13:

11756 gamble - 3770k@5.0ghz(w) / R9 290x 1265c/6000m(w)

Ive updated Galaxi results too to be added :)

Single:

P10852 galaxi - 4820k@4.85ghz / GTX 670 1100c/1850m

SLI:

P17491 galaxi - 4820k@4.85ghz / SLI GTX 670 1100c/1850m

====

Also, the Metro results are from two different games 2033 and Metro Last Light as Dasa pointed out before to me :)

vrm hs and gpu block installed cpu\gpu\vrm all idling at ~26c

hwere we go a quick run of firestrike with the odd artifact...

11356 Dasa - i7 2600K@5GHz(w) - 290@1260\1500(w)

power use peaked at 574.3w from the wall

2600k@5GHz 1.45v

2x4g samsung 1600c11@2133 10-10-10-28-1t

290@1260\1500 +200mv havent played with fixed v yet but extra v seems to be having a minimal affect on stability at this stage

Good run Dasa, awesome OC! Extra volts might help a bit. If I run it straight at 1265mhz it will fail but if I run at 1250mhz first then 1265mhz it will finish the run... Kinda strange

ran firestrike almost a dozen times thismorning with different core\mem frequencies as high as 1275\1575mhz but higher clocks seemed to be reducing the score

enabling constant v didnt seem to make a difference to stability

power use peaked at 580w during 3dm combined and temps peaked at 54c core ~80c vrm1 and ~50c vrm2 i think during valley

also tightened ram timings to 2133 9-10-10-24-1t latency boundary 5

Firestrike

11409 Dasa - i7 2600K@5.1GHz(w) - 290@1265\1500(w)

3Dm11

P16241 Dasa - i7 2600K@5.1GHz(w) - 290@1260\1500(w)

Vantage

P46414 Dasa - i7 2600K@5.1GHz(w) - 290@1260\1500(w)

MetroLL

53.56 Dasa - i7 2600K@5.1GHz(w) - 290@1265\1500(w)

Valley

2984 Dasa - i7 2600K@5.1GHz(w) - 290@1265\1500(w)
