An update on some of the music I've been making lately

Recommended Posts

Hey guys thought I would give y'all an update on my music writing of late, I know a few of ya listened in when I posted threads way back when I was a piano nut, hah.

Well I still love to play the piano but I'm an electronic music fiend these days and my passion of the last year (and most likely until I'm dead) is drum and bass.

I wrote a lot of trance and psy trance but the energy of drum and bass really captured me. I write DNB/Dubstep/Electro under my alias "Dreadnought" these days,

and going to start learning how to DJ next year, when I can afford the gear.. so the goal is to start spinning at gigs as soon as possible.

Anyway, I thought I'd share some links to (what I think anyway) are my best produced tunes of the last year, hope ya enjoy! :-)

"Arcane"

"Gridlock"

"Force It"

"Amphetamine"

"Fire & Ice"

http://soundcloud.com/dreadnoughtproject/fire-ice

"Petrolhead" (Electro)

http://soundcloud.com/dreadnoughtproject/petrolhead

Big fans of Noisia, Spor, Phace, Misanthrop, Calyx & Teebee, Catacomb, and Cern.... these artists pretty much inspired me into the genre.

I also have a FaceBook page now so follow me on there if you want to stay up to date with new tunes and stuff!

Cheers!

I'm having a listen now. Petrolhead is grabbing me. It's fucking awesome dude.

Your new stuff is so much more polished than your old stuff. (which I still have in my music collection too, btw. Android ftw!)

Hmmm..

Have you used Live before?

Just looked at a video of FL studio. Looks more simple to use than Live I think.

I've used Ableton Live before but got hooked on FL Studio's workflow. Yeah FL is a lot simpler to figure out but just as capable :)

Heaps of good tutorials on youtube for FL.. if you got any specific questions can always help ya out, once you get the general workflow / automation down it gets easier and easier to use

Also: Who do you get to do you're artwork? Some of that shit is off the charts.

Google images haha xD

I try and go for royalty free stuff if I can, it's just nicer than having a blank soundcloud/youtube video.. when it comes to art for official releases though I'd go through the proper channels :)
