UN. STOPPABLE.

I was a little worried in the first, but the second Machida tried to brawl with Jones in the middle of the second, I knew it was over.

JONNY. BONES. JONES!

Best part? That weren't no guillotine. That was a mother fuckin McKenzietine.

People are still saying that the kid is all hype.

His last three fights have been with ex-champs. How the hell do people not think Bones is the second coming of Christ?

P.S. I mean Christ as in "The Jesus of hurting people", not like the son of God.

The ole "just got beaten by the champ" curse strikes again.

Zombie is good. He might even be top 10. But I think Hominick would have beaten him... in any other situation but having just lost to the champ. It fucks with peoples heads and they do dumb things - either over cautious or over agressive. Zombie nailed him for lacking respect. Done.

It was a sweet hit. I reckon that he could have landed that at any time during the fight. It was the lack of chin as much as it was the hit, methinks.

I dunno about lack of chin. Hominick takes hits well, just like Zombie. But it was SUCH a sweet hit with SUCH a sweet follow up in the precise ground strikes (he hit two out of four, which in that swarm/finish mode is incredibly accurate)... Zombie was given a small opportunity and did everything right.

I agree that Zombie could have done that at any point... if Hominick had given him an opening like that. Normally, Hominick wouldn't have.

***SPOILERS***

So who the fuck doubts Frank Mir now? KO'ing Nog is one thing but subbing him, and after being drastically wobbled?

Think on that for a second. He SUBMITTED Minotauro Nogueira. Fuck all your shit. Frank Mir is THE MAN. I feel real bad for Nog, hate to see subs end like that, but if you want to try and roll instead of tapping, you takes your chances. Sylvia didn't want to tap, he wanted to try and power out of it, and the same thing happened.

Tant: I don't mean its a lack of chin as such, but more that Jung would have had the same outcome whether he landed that hit at 7 seconds, or in round 3 at 2 min 15s. If he could land it, Hominick would hit the deck.

Agreed. I just think that losing in the fashion he did made Hominick much more vulnerable to it than he normally would have been.

Yeah, I'm watching an interview now where they're talking about a broken humerus. That's.....not supposed to happen. A kimura will, under the normal run of things, dislocate an elbow or separate a shoulder, along with the associated damage to muscle and ligament. A broken humerus is a weird thing to take away from a submission of that sort. It's gonna be a sucky heal too, so all the best to Nog.

tant: true. after his last fight, you could tell he was keen to come out and dominate. maybe put an egg on someone elses head. instead, he ended up with (another) egg on his face.

The casino went fucking apeshit when Jung won tho. Me too, cause I had money on him :P

How good was Jones choke on Machida? He had his head and neck at such a fucked up angle, i'm surprised the ref saw the dropping of the right hand from his position.

Yeah, I assumed dislocation for that reason. I mean yeah, they're heavyweights, and Mir is strong... but fuck me. He could be out for a year, and at his age that could be a serious problem. Not to mention the personal everyday problems.

G'luck Big Nog.

I wasn't kidding. That shit was a McKenzietine. Instead of locking hand to bicep he bent back his hand with his other hand. McKenzietine, bitches.

(sorry about the repeated "blah, bitches" - it's Rogan bleed through)

*EDIT* Wait a minute, I'm thinking of other chokes (RNC, arm triangle, probably more). Guillotine is connecting hands. But still, the wrist bend back leveraging it is a McKenzietine, which is what Bones did.

You want to see a fucked up angle, have a look at this shit:

--edit-- He was completely ok, by the way. Inexplicably ok.

I had not seen that. That's a crazy choke right there.

Dan Miller's baby is getting a kidney transplant, BTW. The internet gave him a certain undisclosed amount of cash for it and the UFC closed the gap (probably to the tune of tens of thousands, probably over a hundred in the long run). Why did his kid need the cash? His aunt volunteered a kidney instead of waiting for a spare donor one. If someone volunteers, the insurance doesn't cover it.

Good ole America. Taking care of it's people through private insurance.

Yeah people were saying it before his fight against Shogun, and even before that. I was talking him up like nothing else, purely and simply I said "no one has given him any trouble, he tears through his opponents!"

I love being right ;)

I've seen a few 'no taps' from Kimuras (they're online, go have a look) and I gotta say that a broken humerus isn't exactly uncommon. In the end it comes down to body type / positioning and angle. I would guess that, that break just retired big Nog.
