What's on your mind?

Recommended Posts

I few months ago my wife found a lump in her breast, scans have shown that and other cysts. She's at an appointment in a specialist clinic which may turn into an all-day thing depending on what tests they want to do. I'm waiting for her call after her first appointment to go in and be with her. Hopefully it's all benign.

The waiting and not knowing is all that occupies my thoughts at the moment :(

Best wishes dude.

Thanks guys, I have to stay home as she's in a 'women's only' area, which makes sense I guess. Early reports so far are good :)

Hey Spud, always worrying but most times it is a false alarm. One of my sisters has had those worrying lumps for decades but never progressed to anything else.

Take it easy, we are all sending positive thoughts your way :)

Cheers

My friend finally saw the doctor, yes there were spots (quite a few) on the lung but could not confirm what it actually was ...another Xray in 3 months to see if they grow.

All the best for your wife SpudMuffin. With luck most of the days waiting is done by now, hopefully.

Walt took me for my biopsy. Due to life stresses of the time I'd gathered a doozy of a lump that a few weeks antibiotics took care of. It was very scary at the time.

Acidophilus became my friend then too ;)

So annoying. Avast detects what it thinks is dodgy program behaviour. Without thinking about it I let it take action. Turns out it was the MyHarmony Logitech software and it went and broke it.

Then you get something like an abstract game from 10 years ago and it's fine with it.

ed - seems maybe my software was a bit out of date. Got new MyHarmony - it looks like maybe they've moved from Flash to Silverlight.

"The benchmark S&P/ASX 200 Index and the broader All Ordinaries Index each finished Friday down 1.2 per cent to 5693.1 points and 5743.5 points respectively. Over the week both indices were off 0.5 per cent."

Tanks?

Over the last ten days or so, I've read three articles talking about the latest research into seniors and the drinking of grog.

IIRC the first said that ' studies' showed that a glass or three nightly for those 65yrs and over, was beneficial in warding off dementia. ( I truly read that ! )

The second was to say that no more than a glass of either beer or wine a night was necessary to sustain a healthy human.

And of course the the third said too much sugar was in grog so those who do imbibe should consider this when sorting their diet out .

... which is why I go the scotch with some ice ( excuse me to the purists ) . There's sugar in the grog but no added mixer, and water with every mouthful makes me feel holier than thou wrt the whole silly thing.

< raises glass > cheers folks.

False start on the automation front with wiring problems with the smart thermostat.

I need to find a good cable retailer...

So. Was chatting with a Canadian today. Mentioned that I was re-watching Twin Peaks. She had no clue of what I was on about. So I talked of how the show was a huge hit here on it's first release in 1990 and the, " She's Dead ... Wrapped in plastic " , was known by just about every living person ...

She then said " I was born in 1990 " . :| ... And that " maybe after she and her boyfriend finished watching Sienfield, they would maybe take a look at TP"

It was like I was suddenly conversing with a real live alien !

Happens to us all eventually. That moment when you come up against your not-that-distant memories being older than the adult you're speaking to... Rocks the foundations a bit. Edited by Cybes

Even with only a 'dumb' thermostat, the heat is nice :)

Had a kangaroo run into the side of me last night.

2 way major road, just got to 80 km/h after turning right at the traffic lights. Get about 500m down the road, traffic coming, no streetlights. Saw the first one just in time to hit the brakes which allowed it a couple of metres space to get by. At the moment he went past, noticed he had 1 or 2 companions then *thud* - the sound you hear like when a soccerball is kicked into the side of a car with half decent force. By the sound of it in between the door and left rear wheel.

Got home, only had phone light then torch to check it out, so left it for this morning to properly inspect. Can't see anything much wrong at all - there's a couple of barely visible scratches I'm not sure I had.

I think what helped is it was a 90 degree side angle and the 'roo probably saw me in time to reduce his forward speed.

Hmm,

I don't really know why but I'm forever dodging them when I go bush - you'd think they'd learn...

Cheers

Believe it when I see it. She's on the record as saying (more than once) that she sees it as her duty to stay in the post until they take her out in a box.

:)

Indeed she is, she is also on the record as regarding Charles as an idiot. :)

Dead news day I suspect, possibly sparked by Philip retiring from public duties.

Cheers
