What's on your mind?

Recommended Posts

Got a mate's Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 here.

Was running like a basket case on 4.2.2 which is the latest offered factory update.

Installed Slim 6 + nano Gapps earlier - I considered Slim 7 but have the feeling it wouldn't be up to running it.  Also DL'd SlimKat  in case 6 was too slow.
Now at an acceptable speed but see how it goes as time passes.

A nice touch is that it has Root options built into the developer settings.

🙂

Yeah, the moron has never heard of tunnels apparently, which are already there for drugs and people, not to mention the DIY submarines 🙂

Cheers

Yes Trump thinks walls work. Ask the Chinese about how well they actually work ...

This is a Trump wall (aka glorified fence)

i am running lineage 16 o.s (based on android pie) on my ancient sony xperia sp

they are similar age and spec

https://www.gsmarena.com/compare.php3?idPhone1=4669&idPhone2=5364

running open  gapps 9.0 micro is quite capable as a daily, but as noted before, i'm not that desperate for my mobile to do all things - i have a nexus 7 v2  tablet that fits that niche

however, lineage is highly configurable and very pretty to use, and the xperia manages it on 1gb ram very well

check it out if you are into custom roms - i have been quite impressed

note though that adrianDC who produced the rom is a senior developer who has a thing for sny devices, so you may not encounter such brilliant workmanship

I chose 6 as it would likely give the good balance between compatibility and speed.  It's laggy at times and will probably get worse but the 4.2.2 from the factory made it unusable though supposedly Android System Webview updates are supposedly responsible for much of the slowdown on older tablets on legacy OSes.

It's done and dusted now but I've got my 32 Gig Nexus 7 which I last night put TWRP on and will try out a few ROMs on.  Actually, I'll probably just migrate my stuff to it an use the 16 Gig one as a testbed then find something to settle with.

is that the 7 version 2 or the first ?

i have both, and the first is pretty slow even running 7.1.2, whereas the second version seems pretty snappy on stock 6.0.1

much faster using 5ghz wifi enforced, whereas the first vesion lacks that ability

i might have to search out lineage for the v1 and have another play

i lost interest because the bluetooth on it seemed to have a fault, and using it as a media hub for the stereo was sad due to distortion

Sadly, both are just the wifi only 2012 versions.

Looked around for a while for a Nexus 9 but they seem rare as rocking horse shit and priced accordingly.

Seasonal chuckle from Oglaf.com  (CAUTION: Site contains explicit cartoon porn fairly frequently.)

i have a pair of tf300t's with transformer keyboards

the size is excellent for media streaming, but same non-5ghz limitation

a 16gig version cost me $80 (but needed to be unlocked and jailbroken to run android 7.1 presently

Yeah, we haven't got any fans on either !

The fact it's 3c might have something to do with it though !

Merry Xmas Down There !

no no that does not work. you'd be in Melb. not Darwin.

The only way one could know climate change had really occurred in Melbourne is to have three days in a row of exactly the same weather with absolutely no variances

There are few things as miserable as having a sound-sensitive migraine at Christmas lunch. 40 people competing with fucking carols, accompanied by the crashing of cutlery and plates.

Shut.

The fuck.

UP!!!

Goddamned head feels like it's exploding.

we've just completed( well the food part about an hour ago ) a bacon, eggs, mushies, tomato and onion and some sliced beef sausage cooked in the one pan with a slice of toasted turkish bread. served up with a coopers pale ale. whilst watching "the hobbitts an unexpected journey "

...all done in the privacy of our wee dwelling on this fine slightly rainy day and without hoards of family or anyone else ;)
