What's on your mind?

in what ways beyond blocking ads?  they more than likely have what you watch, when, for how long, and from where, all linked to a persistent unique identifier, or a handful.  its unlikely youre going to the lengths necessary to prevent the latter.  so i imagine they are still getting the bulk of your data, and making very good use of it.  really, youre blocking the bejesus out of the visibility of their negligibly impeded data use 🙂

that's true

still, if they can't spoon feed me advertising based on my patterns, then job done from my perspective

so knowing someone's address might be data, but going to visit them is rather fruitless if they're never home

its not fruitless to use your data to inform the accuracy of profiles of people similar to you in various ways other than their relative likelihood of being home.

its not fruitless to inform the accuracy of profiles of what types of people are never home.  even better, at the risk of confusing the analogy, if they can couple that with the ability to rifle through your letterbox.

No doubt Google ads that appear throughout the 'web use your YT history as input to the algorithm.  But in that sense I don't care too much, have adblocking in place anyhow.

What bothers me is when they decide to skim your emails and harvest data there... they even offer to do so as fine-tuning for Android's swipe keyboard.

my secret is that very few people are similar to me

so they will be trying to profile a most definite outlier; and even sadder for them, they'll see i almost never buy things (at least not brand new things)

they'll be pretty disappointed with my emails too i think

I'll do it the old school Atomic way instead of posting a YouTube link...

People are strange is when you're a stranger
Faces look ugly when you're alone
Women seem wicked when you're unwanted
Streets are uneven when you're down
When you're strange
Faces come out of the rain
When you're strange
No one remembers your name
When you're strange
When you're strange
When you're strange
People are strange is when you're a stranger
Faces look ugly when you're alone
Women seem wicked when you're unwanted
Streets are uneven when you're down
When you're strange
Faces come out of the rain
When you're strange
No one remembers your name
When you're strange
When you're strange
When you're strange
Yeah

I'm now inspired to throw on The Doors!

I had been listening to Led Zeppelin just before after watching this video.

I knew Bozo was a good drummer but it's not until his style gets broken down like this that I realise how fucking good he was!
You probably already get it because you're more musical than me, but if you haven't see this it's worth the 9 minute watch.

I don't know If I've watched that one.............there are a lot about him.

It was always the whacko timing in Black Dog that got me.

Genius stuff.

Yes! That's what this touches on, and a few others.

Saw son Jason at the Tivoli last year as part of the LZ experience, was bloody good.

The girls do Black Dog very well.

There's a couple of settings - got to say the stupid tips, ads and lame attempts at humour are annoying and very unprofessional.

all good, except i don't mind their pictures, just the superfluous dross

turning off spotlight kills the pics - mine are okay as a slideshow, but i don't mind random beauty

I've seen her!
There's a video on YouTube of Robert Plant watching this video and he's very impressed.
She is incredibly amazing. I love the way she just smiles all the way through her videos like it's just a walk in the park.

I love watching musically talented kids, really puts a smile on my dial.

As mentioned, Netflix and Stan are putting the knife to FoxTel, though they totally failed to mention Uncle Torrence.
