monitor stuck on 60 Hz in games

Recommended Posts

I know this is an old problem, but I have tried uninstalling the video card driver software and installing the latest, I've tried using the video card driver software to force the refresh rate, I've tried uninstalling the monitor and I've tried RefreshForce. None of that helped. Any ideas?

Video card is an ATI Radeon HD 4670.

OS is Windows XP.

Compaq P1220 (CRT). It has previously worked fine in games at higher refresh rates.

Why do you think I asked about the monitor?

fajw from memory you change the refresh rate (and resolution) for the game in the game in video settings. It is nothing to do with desktop refresh rate.

There's no such setting in this game.

Then the games only supports 60Hz.

Which games?

What's wrong with CRT screens?

They are still superior to LCD in some ways.

I fixed it. I think unplugging the second monitor helped. After that I did the software uninstalling and reinstalling.
