CDN's like Akamai and Amazon S3 use DNS magic to direct you at servers in Australia (or wherever you are) for fast content downloads. Google DNS and OpenDNS (and other similar services) break this functionality.


The whole point of the OP's thingy is to restore that functionality when using these DNS services. So actually you use both.


Conversely, if you're using your ISP's DNS server, OP's thing won't make a lick of difference for you.
