At 11:46 brisbane time, Google was down.

Recommended Posts

My 3G phone, secure work internet, and VPN to my home internet all couldn't get there.

How does that happen? Unless the cloud computers are all in the same data centre (which kinda defats the purpose of a cloud doesnt it? Isn't it meant to be widely distributed to protect data and lower worldwide ping times?)

I thought it was odd.

and curious, was wondering why\whats involved in taking something THAT BIG offline for about a minute.

It's the only thing that can knock something like Google 'offline'

Like that time Dodo internet did a server update and they become 'the internet' according to Telstra routing paths and no one on Telstra internet could get to the internet.
