New to me too. Daaaaaaaaamn... this makes me dream of there one day being PCI-E hubs like USB hubs; then we could put 24 OCZ Revodrive 3 X2s in a RAID setup for UNRESTRAINED GLORY. It's a shame that transferring from other devices is still bound by read speeds of the other drives. If it wasn't, this kind of thing would be great for whole-system clone backups.

While not 24 drives how about some RocketCache 3240X8 for 4 sata drives for raid caching?

RocketCache HBA’s can aggregate multiple SSD's and hard disks into single storage units, in order to maximize transfer speeds or data security.

Holy dooly- I will never exit PC hardware :) You just don't find that kind of 'advanced gung-ho' tech anywhere else.

Time to nab a few SSDs!

This footage is old, imagine the speed with current gen drives!

Yep, I saw this a couple of years back, it's still pretty impressive.

Less impressive would be the deteriorationin performance over time - not that I believe anyone was porposing such a set-up for day to day use.

At the time, TRIM didn't work on RAIDed SSDs, so performance would have dropped through the floorboards pretty quick.

Agreed- 840 pros are great all around. Is any SSD beating the Crucial M4 for bang for buck by a decent amount yet?
