Procedural Music in XNA

Recommended Posts

For those that are interested, I wrote up a Procedural Music generator in XNA.

I also wrote a tutorial for it. While I'm sure most people here aren't particularly interested in the XNA side, the code is (obviously) able to be ported to other languages.

Here is the tutorial.

I hope someone hinds it interesting ;)

Looks good. I had a look through the codebase. My main comment would be the use of abstract base clases . You've used them, which is great, but then you haven't put any functionality in them. So it makes them no different from interfaces. Take Instrument and Song for example. Both those base classes can implement functionality that is shared amonst the child classes. Also, the use of strategy pattern on the base classes and implemented by the child classes would help this.
