Looking for better network software.

Recommended Posts

I'm chasing software to install on my network so i can monitor and control other pc's.

I'm using network magic but it only does so much, I need one that can't be tampered with.... Say user on other end can't exit or modify without admin permission.

Modem I got is

Technicolor TG587n v3

Typical telstra modem which is usless for such settings.

TightVNC, LanView, ABTutor, the list is HUGE.

almost all of them can be control-alt-delete exited, but that's all. Not many ways around that if the users are also Admin. Most you can do is write some VB that says if that process ends, run a 'shutdown -r -t5 "Dont exit my naughty spy stuff"' script.

OS would help a bit.

We use RDP for our windows boxes at work, defacto standard and can't complain about it.

Linux we just use SSH, no GUI... no real point.

The main issues i find with things like VNC is it's all or nothing, if someone is on there you steal their session and i also find it to be pretty slow (Unless it's gotten better since i last used it).

What exactly are you wanting to monitor and control? What Operating Systems?
