I can't connect to my FreeNas server after fresh install.

Recommended Posts

Hi All,

Am a little stuck. Just did a fresh install on a HP proliant server with FreeNas as the OS. OS is installed on a USB stick and loads up and give me the IP address to use in a web browser to connect to the OS.

So I entre the IP 192.168.1.7 in a Chrome browser and I get a message saying "Oops! Google Chrome could not connect to 192.168.1.7".

The server is plugged into my Netgear router and all seems to fine there.

Any know where I went wrong? Do I need to do a fresh install? Or do I have to congfifure the server network setting? (which I am not sure of how to do as its all in code).

Thanks for the help.

Cheers

yeah I know the site says http, but I remember that being a bug in the old build. It'll be long fixed, but worth a try.

Also yeah any browser other than chrome is at least worth a shot. Note: if your IE is v9.0 or above, disable compatibility mode. known issues.

First quick check is to make sure your PC can connect to the FreeNAS box.

Are you able to ping FreeNAS from your PC?

Is your PC in the same address range, ie does your PC's IP address start with 192.168.1.
