Best realistic, unbiased benchmarking?

Recommended Posts

CPU benching is hard since the OS changes what you'll actually get as a result. If you don't change it, prime95 and cinebench seem good.

3dmark and heaven are both good for GPU.

the majority of benchmarks can be changed and thus can be bias to one particular piece of hardware.

For un bias benchmarks there are unfortunately none as all hardware makers can change the result through software (drivers for the GPU) and other parts of the system for the CPU eg: the ram might run fast thus effecting the score.

for realstic benchmarks I would say take a peice of software you use every day and run that against the hardware you have to find the best for your needs.

Hence why its in the CPU section I guess

Reason i went with PRIME is that its pretty hard to 'cheat' on simple maths; and its a test you could run multi platform.
