Internet connection cuts out when I turn computer on.

Recommended Posts

When I turn on the PC hooked up to the television the Internet connection cuts out. The cable (Cat 6) between the PC and the switch runs parallel to the cable (Cat 6) between the modem and the telephone line socket so I am guessing there is some sort of interference there. Should I try 6a?

The cable between the modem and the telephone line socket is Belkin.

Cat 6 between modem and telephone socket? How fucking long is it?

Modem should always be as close to the phone socket as possible with the shortest lead possible between wall and modem.

In your case sounds like some RF is freaking the modem out, possibly the PC power supply or the TV power supply.

Strange; it's working now.

I'm not sure exactly how long the cable is but it is at least 10 metres and no more that 20.
