how crap is this government ?

I say this not being religious nor a Liberal voter, but... isn't calling it a miracle when marginal seats go  blue, kind of an insult to those local members?

5 seats to go. Libs up in 4.

If they land them, that's 78. Labor will have lost seats to the Coalition (totals of 2 in NSW, 2 in QLD, 2 in TAS).

Hopefully that means a majority Coalition government 🙂

How much I'm ok with them having majority govt will depend on seeing the makeup of the Senate in a week or few.

Senate looks like 33 Libs, 29 Labor, communists and a few independents for the rest. no-one has majority.

Happy with that.

LNP crawled across the line with 76 seats. Means they are majority government by a fingernail. Means they have not have defections, dual citizens and people just deciding leave!

I guess the good outcome was 19 vote Fraser Anning not getting back in

Postal votes favour Liberal. Wentworth is a very rich electorate.

I would be extremely surprised if he doesn’t make it in.

True generally with postal votes. He's most likely to win.

Models are great but TBH I'm always happy to wait for 100% of the votes to be tallied - unless there are obvious leads.

And he probably will.

We need a foreign minister and a next-in-like for PM in the Libs.

Frydenberg looked good for it, but him being Jewish works against him.

The senate results will take longer to process! Always with the senate.

Josh will probably stay as treasurer (and get the blame when things burn to the ground). We're caught the crossfire with this nasty US/China trade war.

She only got in as part of the libs, taking on a sitting minister was always going be a fail.

I hope she gets in because it just means the LNP have to deal with her oddities when they need to pass stuff through the senate.

I like Jaquie Lambi ... she's a rough gem .

They voted in that George guy so he can afford more money to spend more time in the Philippines. Wait, he could be the foreign minister!

My favourite tracker of conservative and populist trends, Dr Steve Turley talks about our election.

He's on a flight to Venezuela where things are fair, equitable, no one punches down and fits with his requirement of anarchic participatory democracy.

🙂

Or he's simply drowning his sorrows...

TBH  I never really expected the government to be re-elected but I don't really think it is going to make much difference.

Hopefully it gives Scomo enough credence that he doesn't get back-stabbed next week...

Cheers
