Not even a nice fresh metaphorical piece? What if it's organic metaphorical?

Nope.

Also, front page of today's The Australian has Sally McManus acknowledging Setka innocent of denigrating Ms Batty.

Apparently he’s brought the Union into disrepute which is some accomplishment given he’s already got a rap sheet and the Union itself is a wretched hive of scum and villainy.

Pity all you are good for in this thread now is trolling

Pity indeed. How sweet it would have been, to be celebrating the door hitting the arses of this cavalcade of corrupt country-fucking cunts, and the formation of a government not entirely devoted to shafting everyone but party donors.

But sadly, it was not to be, since swinging voters are drooling morons swayed by blatant lies aimed at them by devious Cambridge Analytica style elitist filth through the Facebook cesspit of doom.

Step over the homeless person to enter your double mortgaged investment and snuggle up with your tax breaks and franking credits to watch the world burn in 60" ultra high definition while refugees hang themselves and the ecosystem collapses.

Throw another lamb chop on the barbie and lose another hundred bucks on Sportsbet, cause you know it makes sense.

Hard to say what makes me happier:

1. That people who Kimmo supports didn't make it into power, or

2. That people who DMB/NZT48 supports didn't make it into power.

(Also, man who consumes significant quantities of illicit substances, tells others gambling is a waste of money).

Just the sort of response I expected from you Leonid 🙂

So I know Setka is facing harassment charges, but I didn't realise he had a "rap sheet".

Maybe Sally is right in saying that he (Setka) should resign for the 'look' of the unions.

If he does, I hope the bod that replaces him is properly committed to the task of keeping our work force safe before outdoor walls and buildings kill them (the workers ) and us the unsuspecting general public.

Don't know. I guess it depends on which paper you be reading.

I would like to be fly on the wall to see what went on and goes on in union meetings.

I reckon it would be hard work being a dedicated union rep. whose sole purpose in life is to have a bash at keeping business operators more than just legal in their dealings with man and machinery. And yes like most large biz. the corruption and illegal behaviour happens

The filth you support establishes gulags and imprisons everyone.

If I were you (Jesus, I’d have to stab myself for sinking that low), I’d keep my mouth firmly shut about prisons with THAT ideology.

Can you hear yourself, blathering that deranged propaganda?

You're fucking unhinged.

Yeah, thanks, Scummo, for saving us from the gulags.

Yep.

Sure.

Kimmo, got a question.

In a hypothetical future where your team win and you're executed in a gulag for being insufficiently practical (because someone still has to shovel shit on the way to socialist paradise)... what's gonna get written on your gravestone?

In your 3+ decades on this planet... what's the RIP gonna read?

"Here lies Kimmo, beloved father, and husband", or

"Here lies Kimmo, sorely missed by Bradders, his cocaine dealer"

You spend a lot of time fighting the man, and telling others how the world should be run and how money should be spent... but I'm reasonably sure you've created no wealth to distribute or own, haven't got anyone who'll miss you if you're gone and have shirked any social responsibility except protest marches. Why would anyone listen to you?

All cards on the table, Kimmo. Have you got anything in your life, worthy of respect, or have you just managed to exist because you're too fucking angry at the world because it was here first and it doesn't owe you shit?

Being told to go and get fucked from the likes of you is like being told “you’re a cunt” while opposing Nazis.

I’ll take it with honour.

I’m guessing it’s Option 2 then, eh? You’ve achieved absolutely nothing, are responsible to absolutely no-one and the only person who’ll miss you when you’re gone is your coke dealer.

Which really begs the question... On what earned respect are you demanding further redistribution of others’ wealth? Why do you get to decide what someone throws on a gamble while you’re snorting lines like the degenerate you are?

Well it's true that the last stages have been fast tracked, comparitvely to the rest of the stages over the last nine to ten years .

As to the various Gov. body approvals, I hope they stand the tests of time better than our current building and materials standards are doing ...

I get the feeling the horrors past of cyclone Tracey on our building codes today are not considered with quite the same importance. And well, Sydney's apartments cracking under pressures of normal seasons really is pretty fucken scary tbh.

I have no faith in what ever approvals Adani have been issued.

Personally, it's my considered belief that every person that survives their birth and parents and lives to give someone else the shits over something, has achieved.

So full disclosure: I have a couple of clients in the construction industry. The problem doesn’t appear to be so much in regulations - as it’s a lack of enforcement capability.

It’s almost a trust-based system with no independent review.

However, re that tower in Mascot, I used to live in that suburb and it’s two suburbs from where I live so I’m there a lot.

Mascot is currently a massive construction zone in terms of new apartment buildings. At the same time a new metro line is going in nearby and Equinix SY5 is being built across the road on the old Bunnings site. They’re boring holes underground for fibre and 33kVA feeds and widening Gardeners Rd in sections.

I don’t discount the possibility that the tower is damaged as a function of external forces rather than construction issues.

Miners are suffering black lung, either again or as always, because rules and regulations to try and contain the death sentence of black lung are not being enforced by the mining companies, or adhered to by the miners themselves.

Labor is for the workers.

Labor is ( or it should be ) for the continuance of real unions to save workers and their families. And they can do this from Opposition probably better than Leading the Gov. imo.

QLD Gov. should not have fast tracked approvals to stay in Gov. This is why they will continue to lose support from the base line.

The mine does not make financial sense.

This is going to go one of three ways:

1. The mine makes financial sense and it’s just more activist yelling and screaming into the wind.

2. It’s a loss leader for other future Adani mines in Australia - ie this one proves they can do it.

3. It’s not going to make money but it’ll inject $2b being constructed and wound down.

I’m betting on 1 or 2.

Adani won’t fold over this mine. The closest town to the mine is 130km away so no health issues.

The Rewan formation protects the Great Artesian Basin from the mine and the Carmichael River will be protected with a levee. On top of this the approved water quality levels for release into the Carmichael River are the most stringent ever imposed in Australia. And they’re not allowed to do it regularly, and they’re forced into a 1km water environmental protection zone between the mine and the river.

when the first major cyclone remnant sweeps well inland off the coral sea due to atmospheric instability, i guess the levee can show its capabilities... or not

and yeah, the artesian basin is not in the firing line, but the galilee basin is a self contained system that provides for local farming use, and any contamination thus will have persistent effects "locally"

as for jobs.... ha!  show me the money

The levee is designed for a one in one thousand year flood.

By definition, a mine that leaves a gaping hole, is not going to be of much future use for farming.

The Galilee Basin is of little concern w.r.t water - the GAB is. But there's the Rewan Formation... so....

"one in a thousand year flood."

Go tell it to the former residents of Fukushima, we are in transitional times, such comments mean nothing.

Mines post establishment actually employ very few people these days, they are just money pits.

Cheers

That 2billion dollar carrot has made Leonid's brain and eyes glaze over.

He's got the hots so bad for Adani, I'm sure he reckons none of the miners will suffer from black lung or the like. In fact from what he says, Adani will only improve us all by it's presence.

A once in a thousand year weather event ... LOL....Murphy's Law haha
