SLA charging in parallel

Recommended Posts

Can someone just quickly confirm my mental block;

If i have 2X 7.2AH SLA batteries. Hooked up in parallel.

Then by the 'Safe SLA' rate of 0.4C, I should be able to charge these at about 6A, yes?

EDIT: and before people are concerned, yes, they were balance charged for 12 hours, and the current draw is using one terminal from each battery. So balance shouldn't be an issue for a long while.

If you take advice from forums, you're a fool, and no warranty is applied.

That's what I've done in the past MS.. In my personal experience, it worked. But that's anecdote, isn't it. (Subtle hints all the way baby!)

0.4C is much lower than whats stamped on the batteries individually, they claim 1C, but everyone in the interbutts says thats too much for SLA.
