SceptreCore 123 Posted September 8 AMD Is Working On A Powerful Milan CPU Variant With 15 Tiles Long story short, this means, unless AMD chooses to delay this variant till DDR5, you are looking at either an 8+6+1 configuration (CPU + HBM + IO) or a 10+4+1 configuration (CPU + HBM + IO). Dasa 289 Posted September 16 4200MHz RAM actually coming out in front is a very interesting result. Nice to see someone tested my theory that some BIOS were totally screwing up sub timings with some kits of ram resulting in a large CPU performance drop. From that makes no sense to use 2400, just get 3200 or 3600 (not the Geil RAM though).

Sounds like a bit of lottery with BIOSes hating certain chips.

gamble 77 Posted October 11 wow he spent some time working on that breakdown and nice results. I like the aida stuff so I can compare against. I wonder why he didn't do 1:1 for his 3600 c14 test, it made his latency horrible. The two 3800 c12 and c15 test are quite amazing. 4000 test @ 2:1 not quite as good, copy is up but at the expense of latency. Looks like he got a good set of kits!
