Free sync and Dell 3014 overclock

well i tried the overclocking software pixel clock patcher,and cru and i added 65 hz and clicked ok and rebooted and black screen telling me to change the resaloution it is not suported .so in the end i had to boot in safe mode and do a system restore,even after i changed the resaloution back to native.Has anyone had any joy with overclocking there Dell or is it just not worth it .

Unless the monitor supports adaptive sync ("freesync" by AMD marketing), nothing you do in software will turn it into a freesync display. The monitor panel itself needs to support that feature. Pretty sure the u3014 does not support it.

 

 

What are you trying to achieve by overclocking your monitor?

Higher refresh rates I suspect
