Project Binky

Excellent!

Is anyone following the Retropower Mk1 Escort build for Gordon Murray on YouTube? Not anywhere near kind of bonkers fabrication that the BOM are guys are performing on Binky, but still impressive, nonetheless.

Bonus video - how they made the flexi aux drive.  Actually about twice the length of a normal episode...

And yet so fascinating it only felt like half as long...

No.  But sub'd and DL'd the first 3 eps for a look.

Another interesting build though I feel it might make Binky look like a rush job is the E-Type by Built By Many.  Only 2 eps so far and the car's barely been touched.

Oh I do love E-Types! And Edd China!

The problem with Built by Many - it's going at a crawl and Edd only did a guest appearance, I don't think he's actually involved directly.

On that subject, he put a pilot out of his own restore rescue type show that would make a good ongoing series but nothing more has happened there.  In fact he seems to be not doing much at all other than advertising and cameos on other people's projects (including Binky).

Edd China's Garage Revival - worth a look https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IaW9Sg5NPyE

Built by Many is actually super boring.

If they actually started doing something that problem would be alleviated a bit...

Have to wonder if the aluminium trim pieces are just going to rattle and creak though I guess if they cover them and/or use grommets and soft spacers it'd help out.

Just started checking this out yesterday, and I can see why it's been five years... Holy crap! This thing is a masterpiece.

These blokes are pretty funny too. Subscribed.

Woo another Binky Vid is out.

In episode 23 of Project Binky we fix a hole in the sump, modify a radiator, finish a lot of the wiring and make a bracket with brackets for the interior light and dashcam. We test the electrical circuits, and there's some shenanigans in our Subaru for good measure.

Where the fuck are they gonna get glass for that carbon weapon?

How eye-watering would the cost of custom glass be? Yeow.

There's a good explanation in a Wheeler Dealers episode - one of the recent ones that's produced in the US.

They had an old car and got Eddie Quato (sp?) to help out - he's supposedly one of the best and used to appear in American Hot Rod, he did the glass work for Boyd Coddington.

This thing needed a small screen and there was no OEM to be had - Eddie ended up finding that a certain older Chev Impala had the right curves so they trimmed down a screen for that and used it.

As for the mostly non compound curved side glass I imagine would be a piece of piss.
