The usual is that the ex-president goes long before the wife - in fact all the other recent the first ladies are still around except Reagan and Ford's wives.

It's a very, very stressful job, even for Trump, watching Obama age before your eyes was quite sobering...

RIP. He was a legend. His RL State of Origin commentary especially was unmatched and he had a great partnership in motorsport commentary with another lost legend - Bazza Sheens.

ed - and not forgetting weightlifting.

Actually, he could have commented a snail race and made it seem exciting.

margot kidder - lois lane to christopher reeve's superman

http://www.abc.net.au/news/2018-05-15/margot-kidder-superman-lois-lane-actress-dead-aged-69/9761342

:(

Yes, that was sad, as was Reeve's untimely death. She had a lot of issues, but she was a very beautiful woman.

I do love horses, been around them most all of my life, but they can hurt you, they sure did Reeve.

I had a stallion once baulk at a fence that he had happily jumped many times before - threw me clean over into the next field. I rolled with it and was fine but we had a little "chat" about that later. He never did it again.

A strange horse was Cracksman, could be extremely docile and then suddenly go feral, tried to kick me once when I was mucking out his stable, we had a "chat" about that as well.

Lovely horse though, ran like the wind and loved a good gallop.

Cheers

RIP - it's like the part was created for her before she was even born. Though I only ever had time for the movies of the 70s/80s and the TV shows that came before them.

I think I must have read every book he ever wrote . some many times, but I've no idea where they are, people kept borrowing them and they never came back :)

RIP.

Ted Dabney, co-founder of Atari, who worked on the first arcade games Computer Space and Pong - aged 80 on 26/5.

https://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2018-05-26-atari-co-founder-ted-dabney-dies-aged-80

Dabney, who was born in San Francisco in 1937, was diagnosed with esophageal cancer in late 2017, and, according to friends, decided against treatment after being told he had eight months to live.

In 1971 Dabney co-founded Atari predecessor Syzygy with Bushnell and developed Computer Space, the world's first commercially available arcade video game. In 1972 the pair co-founded Atari, and Computer Space was used for the basis of Pong, the video game that made the company its early-days millions. Dabney later left the company after a falling out with Busnhell.

Very worthy of mention though I've had little to do with her TV productions other than The Weakest Link and earlier work on Prisoner (fairly sure Sons & Daughters never aired in my area).

Cornelia Frances died of cancer aged 77 on Monday 28th May.

http://www.abc.net.au/news/2018-05-29/cornelia-frances-home-and-away-star-dies-cancer-77-sydney/9811218

Frances was born in Liverpool, England, and moved to Australia in 1970 where her career took off.

In 1970, she starred as Georgina Clausen in two episodes of Dynasty, before becoming a household name playing nurse Grace Scott in The Young Doctors from 1976 to 1979.

In the 1980s, she acted in the drama series Prisoner: Cell Block H, where she played Carmel Saunders.

From 1982 to 1986, she played Barbara Hamilton in the Logie-award-winning soap opera Sons and Daughters.

His name is Anthony Bourdain, and I'm told he decided to die. I wouldn't have picked it just yet ... but then I'm relatively new to his food shows. He's not a ' major ' anything really, but I had liked the shows I'd seen and thought of him as a pretty positive type.

Ahh well, I hope it's what you wanted Mr Bourdain. R.I.P.

I have every one of his books, a very entertaining man who is going to be sorely missed.
