when will the war start ?

Recommended Posts

However in my view a surgical air strike is called for...

Except that China expressly said that would pull them into the conflict due to defence agreements. And picking a fight with China is a Very Dumb Move.

I too doubt this.

I was talking to a Chinese colleague of mine, and asking "Really, what's it like inside china, with all this NK stuff?"

Paraphrasing;

"The people" hate him, well, more specifically, think he's laughable.

On the flip side, "The people" think Westerners are pretty cool (like a lot of us think Asian stuff is pretty cool).

On that note, the government is a lot less 'Totalitarian' than we in the west would believe.

They won't act against "The People", because.... well... there's a lot of them!

I know it's all hearsay and conjecture, but it makes a HELL of a lot more sense to look like they realy did try! But be 'swayed by the people', then having China lose their number 1 export partner.

Regardless of the whole 'who needs who more' in the import\export game.

The US would be even more in the shit than China wrt trade, methinks. Sure, they get to hang on to all that cash they were spending over there (infinitely extended loans they have no hope of ever repaying as well as buying new stuff), but...they need that shit. Cessation of the rare earth trade alone would be a death knell to the few manufacturers they have left: no high-density batteries, no stupid-strong magnets, no cool dopants for optical fibres and ICs...even funky steel would be out, though how much of that do they make these days? ;p

Nah, war between China and the US is a lose/lose for both parties. That does not make it impossible, though - you'd just need to be stupid or a maniac to do it. Oh, look... Two of them.

Chinese President is proud, but not a lot of his ideas are actually stupid.

As you said, it'd literally be cutting off the nose to spite the face.

I guess it comes down to this;

Wealth is VERY important to China.

What has more Value to china?

North Korea?

Or USA 'Partnerships'?

I wasn't refering to China there, but to Kim.

*Pride* is more important. And that's why I think despite all the efforts they can make to get out of it, if Kim triggers the defence agreement they will have no choice. Kim *is* mad or stupid - or both. Trump is both.

I mean, He's really NOT wrong.... but at what cost?

I know he's not wrong but it's not helping the diplomacy of situation.

And Malcy just echoed Trump

Maybe Nth Korea will blow itself up... all by itself ...

http://www.abc.net.au/news/2017-09-23/quake-detected-in-north-korea-china-south-divided-on-cause/8978286

" China's earthquake administration says it has detected a magnitude-3.4 tremor in North Korea that was a "suspected explosion", but South Korea's weather agency says it could be a natural earthquake.

The administration said in a statement on its website that the quake, which occurred around 6:30pm AEST, was recorded a depth of zero kilometres.

Previous quakes from North Korea have indicated nuclear tests by the reclusive state, the most recent earlier this month.

The quake was detected in Kilju county in North Hamgyong Province, where North Korea's known Punggyeri nuclear site is located, according to South Korea's meteorological agency.

The agency said it was analysing the nature of the quake and its initial view was that it was a natural earthquake.

Nuclear proliferation watchdog CTBTO also said it was examining unusual seismic activity in North Korea.

"Analysts looking at unusual #seismic activity of a much smaller magnitude in the #DPRK," CTBTO executive secretary Lassina Zerbo tweeted, adding more details were set to emerge later. China's official news agency Xinhua said the epicentre was roughly at the same place as a similar shallow earthquake on September 3, which turned out to be caused by North Korea's sixth and largest nuclear test. There was no immediate reaction from China's Foreign Ministry.

Tensions have continued to rise since North Korea carried out its sixth nuclear test, prompting a new round of UN sanctions."

Video

It took me a minute to notice the watermark, and I for a minute I thought "Gee, he's actually really reasonable and light hearted about this whole thing, maybe it is the USA who's the worse of the two?" Then, parody.

Jong-Il gets along with Dennis Rodman. I'd reckon he has enough of a sense of humour to know that was aimed more at Trump than him.

... but but relations with Rodman assures you Jong-Un is down with US humour !? ... then all the worry about Trump's humour effecting Jong-Un is just more media fake news ;)
