My leg and the last 2 months

It does not matter, driving assement got canceled

Hmm,

I guess it is a bit difficult to maintain social distance in a car....

Presumably that means all driving tests are off - the consequences of this pandemic are somewhat unexpected. To give another example for reasons I have not really construed as yet rental property listings are way, way down.

Cheers

Been isolated since 1995 bar a few days here and there. I'm an urban hermit, though - I'm not complaining.

Yeah, i know it could be worse

I suppose it is because i feel fine physically, and i know that i will be ok one day

Posted (edited)

After all the pretty horrific pics in this thread TheManFromPOST,  that's just so damn excellent to see.

Edited by eveln
almost brought a tear to my eye, tbh.

Clear shell, a couple of spiral rails, heel-mounted plunger - could have a non-stop game as you head down the street!

Hey, well done. Now think of the fun you can have at airport security checks when the buzzer and red lights go off...

And going to ask Santa for a steampunk parrot and eyepatch to complete the look?

Now into rehab

Took another walk in the leg today, moved to walking with an A frame

Tomorrow i will try walking with elbow crutches

Sucks that at the end of the session they lock away the leg  . But hoppefully Monday i get to keep it

Had not realised they do that - if not adjusting it seems a bit unnecessary if not contra-indicated.

Cheers

Maybe it's one of those boring generalising things they do ... you know, where more don't react well, or are ( they feel ) over confident and hurt their selves with it in the early days, there by lengthening the overall rehab time.

Anyway deep breathes to deal with the frustration of it . And good luck with it all

They are overly cautious

The last thing i want to do is fall over and injure myself. Injuries take me a month to recover.

If i had the leg now i would be tempted to go home for the weekend

Yeah, this usually takes two weeks, even now they are saying 10 days

While they have me they are running other unrelated tests

yeah, you be the obvious would-be over-achiever

i admire your enthusiasm, but as a clinician it's really sad to see patients try so hard to take a short cut that they get lost in complications

one step at a time, as they say

you have to walk before you can run

that's enough axiomatic wisdom- longer story short : don't rush the necessity to take it easy
