New forum issues/features here (Atomic πi)

Recommended Posts

While fixing forum post embeds, so they're now readable, I also disabled automatically double-spacing on enter.  No more shift-enter for single linke breaks.

This has also had some interesting flow-on effects for how older posts now look.

  • Thanks 2

I for one can live with it. 😉

Thankyou, Nich!

Thanks.  I can load up that thread fine, and I'm not seeing anything happening behind the scenes to stress the system out.

Let me know if you keep seeing that error, and if possible, throw up a screenshot.

Thankyou to those responsible for the holding onto to last post made if it wasn't actually posted . I appreciate the hell out of it 🙂

Unsure if it's been revealed but I'm sure I complained about the fuzzy date/times in use here.

Then elsewhere it was pointed out that you can just hover over the vague text "just now" "yesterday" "6 hours ago" and it'll give a popup description of the exact date/time.

Thanks to @Chaos.Lady for helping me track down some CSS changes.

When starting a new PM to someone (or adding a user to an existing one), you should now be able to clearly read the list of names - green highlight, black background - rather than it being a white background with a silver-blue highlight with an off-white font.

As originally noticed by @SceptreCore: As far as postcounts that include tallies from the archives and the modern forum, that's probably going to stay as a no-can-do.  I'm hashing out something to make up for that, I have no ETA on availability for now.

You sure you can't fix the selection color in mentions too? 😛  I fixed it in test.  😛

@Nich... - nevermind.  It was annoying me so I went in and fixed it in prod. 😛

agreed, this can be fixed if they change DNS to point  atomicmpc.com.au  TO  forums.atomicmpc.com.au

Right now it just says 'server offline'.

What specifically is this in relation to?

Wow, no WONDER you're confused, so am I, I was 'tricked' into thinking I'd read the last post, because the 'smart' forum opened up to the last page I'd read, which was a few pages ago, lol.

WHOOPS!

To clarify 😛

http://www.atomicmpc.com.au/

We clearly still own the domain, but it leads to 'server offline'.

DNS should be updates to point to https://forums.atomicmpc.com.au

I'm trying change my signature, but it's saying I'm limited to 4 lines, but I clearly have more than 4 lines at the moment.

umm...

I'm just trying to replace the last three lines with different 3 lines.

I would be guessing that you had your sig set before that requirement was brought in, so its never pinged.

You might have to condense it a bit. 🙂

Do you remember roughly how long has it has had more than four lines?

I think 4 lines was the compromise between having some 'space', and not having signatures that took up more space than posts.

For so many reasons, here's a perfect example of what-not-to-do, @smadge1

Ok, I made it smaller, but now it looks cramped.

Uhhhhh - someone is gonna have to remind me where that is changed.

It's been years since I've looked at it. 😞

edit: NM - I found it in settings not in profile.  I'll have a play with it shortly.
