@~thehung 744 Posted August 26, 2018 huzzah! we got there in the end! that was a pretty iconic hit but fleeting enough to be somewhat obscure. i was just blown away when i found out it used a fricken Monkees sample of all things.

eveln 1,122 Posted August 27, 2018 try again please I grew up as a young teen with a dopey ( as in smoker ) older sibling. The good that was done was to introduce me to some music I might otherwise have missed. Is a pity that same sibling neglected to show me how to be financially successful too
eveln 1,122 Posted August 28, 2018 okay, a clue maybe ? ... Not a huge pop idol at all really. But the artist was more popular here in Aus and Africa and NZ than in the place where the music was made, from mid 60's through to early 80's
komuso 226 Posted August 28, 2018 (edited) Crucify Your Mind, Rodriguez More up my narrow musical alley than DTFH Nothing to do with Rodriguez really, but I started listening to this around the same time. FLL - ND As with Rodriguez, not so popular initially, but Rodriguez lived long enough to experience recognition. Edited August 28, 2018 by komuso

@~thehung 744 Posted August 30, 2018 haha :) i didnt actually know that, although i have probably heard the album a bunch of times. just like people use to know a lot of phone numbers back in the day, i find that the names of songs and albums arent imprinted on my mind like they once were, when physical media was still a thing okay, super easy one SQ, CCR
