No.  Does it generate revenue for you?  I've heard some people making decent bucks out of it but really don't get the concept of sitting watching someone play a game for hours though I do scan through the odd walkthrough, secrets guide, preview game video etc.

Same, but I don't know if it's a generational thing.  I have some friends who view watching twitch as their nightly TV.

I don't make money yet, but the end goal is to supplement my income with something I enjoy doing.

If you're only watching Streams of people silently playing a game, then yeah, sure, a Youtube LP is of equal or greater value.

The good streams are the ones where the host interacts with the viewers, and generally creates a feeling of community.

I believe it was yourself I had some friendly banter with a few years back about 'interacting with new interesting people'.
IIRC you were against it ?
And now you're doing Twitch streaming? I mean cool! but.... such a personality mish mash, haha.

I'll tune in some time and give you shit ?

Mm!

I remember too!

I think the issue I had at the time was why you'd deliberately inconvenience yourself to attract attention out in public?

Twitch puts a layer between me and other human beings, it's far less intimidating even though I'm potentially in front of more eyes that are directed at me.

But yeah, I'm also just recently starting to get past some pretty severe self-esteem / self-loathing issues. Twitch has helped me with that.

Not just seeing the viewer count and engaging with viewers, but talking to people in the Brisbane Twitch community, finding other cool Aussie streamers, and little things like seeing someone else do the simulated-old-Windows-environment overlay thing, which helped me not feel like my idea to do that was silly.
