Hunter is indeed an embarrassment to his Dad, but, he's not running for nomination, his dad is.

You think daddy's clean in all of this?

😉

I have no idea, but he is innocent until proven guilty and  investigations did not reveal any guilt.

Contrariwise I find it interesting that he did actually get a corrupt official removed in Ukraine, a country that has long been demonstrably corrupt as he pointed out on a couple of talk shows.

Hunter is somewhere in his forties, not exactly a child, perfectly capable of being his own kind of fuckup.

However compared to the demonstrable and increasingly obvious culpability of Trump I'd say Biden is way on the pure side.

Cheers

Because he's not guilty.

That's the beauty of legal corruption.

Lol. Backstory:

1. Warren states Sanders told her a woman can’t win presidency. Sanders disputes this.

2. Warren has a history of lying, about her ancestry (claims she is American Indian)

The artist did not miss a trick - shit pouring out of a gold toilet on an overweight orange blob and McConnell  doing something with the flag 🙂

Some would say a Pyrrhic victory - no one expected him to be removed but Pelosi delightfully upstaged him at the State of the Union. Deservedly so too, totally self aggrandizing performance full of lies.

All States of Union are full of lies.

Pelosi spent 8 years with a president who droned a wedding, ran guns to narco cartels, sold uranium to Russia, sent pallets of cash to Iran so that they could fund the explosives that killed so many Americans.

She didn’t upstage him. She reacted in a defeated state. This week cleanly goes to Trump. His polls are higher than Droney McPeaceprize’s and Dubya’s and now he’s gonna get a SOTU boost , GOP’s up to 51% favourability.

And the race is not exactly going the way the DNC wants it to. In any sense.

Theatrics of desperation.

The race I agree with you, unless Mayor Pete gets up it looks dire for the Dems.

However you underestimate what her, probably knee-jerk reaction of tearing up the speech did. IT is what people are talking about, not the speech cum awards presentation brouhaha.

Polls always tend to spike up after a SOTU - they'll fall again, how far by, hard to say, depends how many lies come home to roost.

Um, Obama did not send pallets of cash to Iran, he released funds that belonged to them, get your facts straight. It also is irrelevant that he sold Russia uranium, there is plenty to go around. As for running guns I have zero idea what delusional shit you have dreamed up this time...

SOTU are not typically full of lies, they certainly do not involve giving a high award to a shock jock. Presumably Trump had a bill to pay...

Cheers

Um, there's a whole lot of folks who are pretty fed up with establishment Dems providing fuck-all alternative to the corrupt status quo. Buttigieg or whatever he's called is just trying to preserve as much of the status quo as he thinks is viable; the mincome stuff he's peddling is just a sop. Dude might be young but he's not really for change.

I said it last time and the polls still agree: if Bernie gets up despite the DNC corruption, it looks dire for Trump. Don't heed the MSM; heed the damn polls. Then of course, account for the gerrymander and voter suppression propping up the vicious scum in the blue corner... But still - only Bernie can muster the enthusiasm to get a big enough wave to crash over that wall.

I'd love it to be so Kimmo but it's America, I really will be surprised if Bernie can win the primaries let alone an election.

Buttiegieg is interesting, yes he is young but not unseasoned and I'm not convinced that he is totally running the old-school Dem line - he has ideas and ideals of his own.

It has struck me that his sexual orientation could actually be leveraged as an advantage, even Trump is not going to be dumb enough as to bring the subject up - I hope.

Personally I don't give a damn, anything to get Trump out of there and into a cell where he belongs.

Cheers

you know, when Trump finished his speech and made his way out, no one paid any heed to Pelosi or her gavel denoting the end of the proceedings, no one but the camera that is.

She's a childish and rude individual. I suggest if she wants respect from her adversaries, she should learn to give it.

I am very far from liking Trump, but I'm not going to pretend just because she's against him: that was not a power move, it was an immature display of petulance.  Much like her slow clap theatrics.

Coincidentally, just found this article which mirrors many of my own opinions on this: https://thehill.com/opinion/white-house/481598-nancy-pelosi-should-resign

Best thing that could happen for Trump.

Absolute best thing.

It'll be the most left-of-usual Republican President in (recent) history vs the most far-left Democratic contender.

Socialism has never increased the wealth of the bottom of the social ladder. This President has.

Trump's got higher numbers than any GOP President for blacks and Jews - since the 90s if you don’t include Dubya’s 9/11 numbers. There's a Jewish Democratic group called Democratic Majority for Israel that is RIGHT NOW running ads against Sanders. If Sanders gets up, some of the 70% Jewish Democratic vote reverses and heads to Trump. Some of that will happen with the blacks too.

It is going to be a brutal repeat of Corbynism.

I didn’t quite say that did I? I said the most-left-of-usual. Ie not as much to the right as every other Republican President:

For evidence I present:

- trade protectionism

- worker nationalism

- the first president to enter presidency supporting gay marriage

- unwilling to spread democracy by means of war

- is the first president since Jimmy Carter to neither start a war nor expand an existing one in his first term

- is the first Republican President since Reagan under whom the wealth of the bottom half has increased in real terms.

- the first Republican nominee to wave a Rainbow Flag on the CPAC stage

- Increasing HBCU finding to levels unheard of, even during Obama’s time.

Heh,

So many of those claims are suspect or time sensitive that it is rather pointless to discuss.

It's emerging that Pelosi actually prepped her speech tearing gesture - think of it what you will, it is what people will be remembering long after Trump's blithering self congratulatory speech is forgotten. It depends where you look as to whether it is seen as derisive commentary or not.

Something rather frightening just lobbed in my inbox this am, an interview with the author of a book on presidents and nuclear weapons that paints a scary picture of Trump:

https://thebulletin.org/2020/02/interview-trumps-nuclear-insecurities-and-other-secrets-from-the-author-of-the-bomb/?utm_source=Newsletter&utm_medium=Email&utm_campaign=ThursdayNewsletter02062020&utm_content=NuclearRisk_KaplanInterview_02042020

I've no idea what his political orientation might be but that is just plain frightening.

Coincidentally or not an Ohio class boomer nuke sub set sail a few days ago for the first time carrying low yield nuclear weapons. What's troubling about this sort of news is that through a combination of greatly improved accuracy for missiles and lower yields the temptation arises to think nukes CAN be used in a limited war scenario.

Taking out Soleimani with a drone one month taking out Kim with a low yield nuke the next ? Unlikely because Trump has indeed not expanded war thus far - he hasn't done much to reduce it either, but riding high again who knows what reckless act he might perpetrate.

He's a loose cannon, I for one will be damned glad when he is gone.

Cheers

It is at its most dangerous when people think it is bullshit.

The author of that book is a Political Science Grad from MIT, I think he may have a somewhat better understanding of the subject than you or I.
