musings of a would-be poet

Recommended Posts

i have not infrequent attacks of inspiration, often from a political story, but sometimes there's just some call to rhyme without reason

today it was young christopher, fellow south australian (all right, i confess i live in nsw and i wasn't born in adelaide, but i spent my formative years there so strongly identify with that parochial big country town with shitty climate)

so here we go, short and sweet :

he's a fixer
but now he's breaking
see the prescient
forsaking

timing's all
economists espouse
in a falling market
bye the house

who remembers The Chaser's CNNNN?   the best thing i ever saw on the ticker was something like - "Iraqi cheese makers complain: the curds keep getting in the whey"

Yep, the reason they're retiring now rather than after their mob gets the arse, is $60k more per year in their pension...

the winds of change are blowing, like a politician shall
when his arguments are showing to be specious
but the world will keep on turning, as he burns in eco-hell
with the yearning to retain the northern beaches

political climate change is real

six more sleeps, the clock is ticking
who will govern ? who will go ?
the campaign drags as punters think
it's time, but jeez, it's moving slow

roosters turn to feather dusters
eggs are broken, - lo, and then
local liberals see the lite
and drought befalls the reigning men

politics like climate changing
terminates the dinosaurs
something new to fill the vacuum
cure the symptoms, treat the cause

pardon the double post; i only later remembered i made this thread for such stuff

$60k per year is fuck all.

How's your super looking? Do you have any?

You should probably spend more energy on trying to make money yourself instead of complaining about people who do make a decent living.
