another post in my series about pulling apart and dealing with Malware.

 

If you like my series and have any ideas of more subjects / topics I would love to hear about the ideas !!

As always, these videos are my community effort to help people like yourself, knock malware on it's head !

I'm not a programmer, but that was fascinating.

 

A couple of questions though - What does a cryptocurrency miner do? Is it a worry if you don't have any cryptocurrencies? Did you ever check out what girlsmist is? It sounds like pornography.

It uses your computer as part of their efforts to mine (like creating new "coins" by doing complex maths to find the next sequence that works to sort of simplify it) crypto currencies ie bitcoin etc. It basically is using more of your processing power for their gain and ends you up either running slow or using more power why the computer should be idle.

No, I never checked out that website. I might if I get bored but I am more about passing along the information about how to avoid getting caught by these sites 🙂
