Which RAM should I get for X570 PC?

Recommended Posts

Motherboard: PRIME X570-PRO/CSM

CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 2700

RAM: G.SKILL F4-3200C14D-32GTZSW Trident Z DDR4-3200MHz CL14-14-14-34 1.35V 32GB (2x16GB)

I have a built a PC using the above components and I intend to get an AMD Ryzen 9 3900X. I got this RAM because I wanted the best RAM for my purposes considering I don't want to overclock so I got 3200MHz RAM with the best timings I could find. The problem is it is only running at 2133 and when I configure it to run at 3200 the PC won't boot. I didn't try fiddling with the timings (set to auto, running at 15-15-15-36 according to CPU-Z). I am using the latest BIOS. Will this be fixed when I upgrade the CPU or is it a motherboard thing? If I should get different RAM, which RAM should I get?

The 2700 can struggle with 16GB sticks of RAM you may only be able to get it running at 2666 without increasing Vdimm and SOC V.

3900X should have no problem running that RAM assuming you have it in the slots recommended in the MB manual usually 2 & 4.
