Recommended Posts

My Favourite movie is Godzilla: King of Monsters and Pacific Rim. I like big creatures fighting and etc. Both had great storylines and special effects.

🙂

I have a few, mostly a bit dated , but you get that.

Terminator 2 is high on the list, so ludicrously over the top that it is impossible not to like it.

An American President, although very sentimental in a way remains one that I enjoy putting on.

Midway, possibly the most authentic movie about WWII, only brought down by a few unnecessary sub plots.

Black Hawk Down, pretty gritty realism.

There are probably more but those will do  🙂

Cheers

Anything with a good story line tends to make it watchable.

Maybe Guardians of the Galaxy 2. It was loads of fun and I loved the treatment of the music. You could hear how focal it was. Then the whole thing was full of nice feels and the colour and imagination. I was never huge on super hero films but I really enjoyed that one.

There are plenty more movies, many of which would be clever and thought provoking but that'll do. It was fun.

The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus would have to get an honourable mention. Could be my favourite depending on the day.

Heh - I've got a couple of faves.

Hudson Hawk - simply because it's fun.

What Dreams May Come - it's my tear jerker... 8 Below comes close behind it.

The Green Mile and Remember The Titans - no real reason why - I just enjoy them.

There's a few others and I can never decide what is my ultimate favourite but I'm not going to list another 20 movies haha

I loved Hudson Hawk because it was just so BAD!!!

Possibly went on a little too long, depends on the cut, but it is right up there as my favorite bad movie 🙂

Cheers

The Death of Stalin is a recent favourite. Everyone has a vice - some people eat chocolate, others interfere with penguins. I like watching commies & socialists die.

Léon, the French version

12 Angry Men

The Man From Earth

Deadpool

Sahara

All the Transformers, because sometimes I just want sexy chicks and robots beating the shit out of each other, not a plot line

dead man

(and down by law, and night on earth... jim jarmusch is more-ish)

mash

(and the player, and short cuts... and mostly everything else robert altman did; my single favourite director, really)

the imaginaruim of dr parnassus - gilliam is very bizarre; most would favour brazil as his best movie, but maybe not for me

leon,  the professional  ... great !   the fifth element comes a close second in luc besson's filmography for me

kelly's heroes (from my childhood) as the best fantasy ww2 scenario ever (eat your heart out tarantino)

wild at heart (and also blue velvet) - what can i say ?  - david lynch... eraserhead made me an early fan

lots lots more, too many to list

give me a twisted story and good actors, and i'm in

I heard of it and decided I could live without it.

havent seen it, but its safe to say the best thing about it is the Key and Peele sketch.  (would love to embed it for a quick laugh, but good luck viewing most of their clips thanks to the fascists at Viacom)

Now, I have never seen The Toxic Avenger but I had a client many moons ago who always maintained it was the best bad film he had ever seen, and he watched a LOT of bad movies  🙂

I had quite forgotten I'd ever watched a film by Pedro .

They were just batshit crazy ... I blame my frown lines on them.
