From a vegan web site

https://happyhappyvegan.com/best-vegan-toilet-paper/

Unfortunately, many major toilet paper brands either test their products on animals or bind the tissue’s fibers with animal gelatin. Some may even do both.

Charmin, for example, one of the more popular brands of toilet paper and general paper products, uses ADMs (animal derived materials), and openly states this fact on their website where you’ll find their ingredients listed.

It must be soooooo hard being a vegan . I dare say this ^^ is why a lot of them appear so pious to me ... I mean you'd have to have a religious fanaticism like thing going on in your head to use your own hand to wipe your bum with. 😉

some of their boycotts are misguided.  as long as people are raising cows to slaughter them for meat, the most ethical thing to do would be to use the whole carcass for leather, gelatin et cetera.  not that all byproducts necessarily come from animals that were "going to die anyway", but its hard to imagine these other markets driving demand anything close to that for tasty burgers.

check out this feedlot, in Texas i imagine

Oh I reckon a resurgence on shoe leather for a start will occur. as will leather use for garments again  become a thing. These may not have the fancy treatments given to $100,000.00 Hermes bags, but it will work fine for people who've killed the animal for meat first.

I've had an annoying sore throat since December.

Same. And an infrequent dry cough. No other symptoms at all, though.

Not getting worse, not getting better, just...there.

The power of suggestion is real.

I was complaining (not here) about ^^those symptoms well before this outbreak, though, so I don't think it applies in my case.

Symptoms?

I got a bit of a chest infection in the last 2-3 weeks of the bushfires which hasn't totally cleared up.

Got a little sore throat from being out walking too late 2 weeks ago.

Had the flu shot 2 days ago so on past history the fatigue + muscle soreness might hit and last a few days.

Some tiredness but mainly due to late night/early starts.

my guess is the leftover effect of breathing bushfire smoke for several months, followed by dust and then pollen after it finally rained

i get it too

and worse recently - not from covid (i hope), but spending at least 6 hours at work using the mobile on speakerphone so i can do telehealth medical consultations while typing the notes before a brief rendezvous in the rear carpark to check people and hand over paperwork

when you lose your taste and smell... look out (according to some)

introducing the indomitable Governor of Georgia Brian Kemp:

Georgia,

population — 10.52 million

covid cases — 4967 (3rd April)

so...he just got around to implementing 'stay at home' orders for the state, effective 4th April.  heres him explaining why — just listen to the first 30 seconds.  i dont even...

Hey, y'all need to cut him some slack. He's obviously very busy hunting down them criminal illegals and can't be expected to know about some obscure wog bug giving people the sniffles.

It's a plausible guess, but there was very little smoke around this area most if the time. Not much between me and the coast, and nothing at all between there and Antarctica.

Smoke now though - some here have stoked up the wood fires already!

I see the good Governor has taken a leaf out of Trump's book - Trump stood between the camera and one of his specialist's slide show presentation, Kemp blocks his signing person.

Both seem equally infatuated with themselves...

Cheers
