Speedtest.net - How fast is your ISP?

Recommended Posts

HAHA, I was looking something up on the interwebs at work and thought that it was taking too long to get to the site so I did a quick speed test and this is what I got back

Ping: 949ms

Download speed: 0.29Mbps

Upload speed: 0.01Mbps

Ha, I have told them to get the internet checked out

That's pretty bad especially 1 second ping.

I know how fast your wired net is, but I'm quite surprised with your 3G

Has it been taking Centrum?

modem says:

4366 kbps down

981 kbps up

using adsl2+ standard profile, has dropped ~900kbps since last year.... (I get this exact same result on low ping profile)

modem says:

5648kbps down

1131kbps up

using adsl 2+ high speed, i use this profile when i need to download (i think, internodes tools are abit flaky atm, and they just finished maintence O.o)

At work:

(recently had a rather controversial network you might have heard of turned on...)

And since I've had a bit of change to my SNR setting, and have moved the router into the living room (and thus am using a really long phone cable to connect it), my home result has dropped to a far less impressive (though this is on an old laptop via wifi, which no doubt is lowering things somewhat):

Holy fuckin' smokes! FTTH = pure excellence. Gonna sneak my NAS in next weekend I think, plug into one of these spare Ethernet ports and have my way with this!

On aaNet ADSL 8192/384 on the Mount Hutton (Newcastle) NSW exchange, just now:

ozspeedtest.com 3MB test currently gives:

Your line speed is 6.27 Mbps (6271 kbps).

Your download speed is 784 KB/s (0.77 MB/s).

Upgrading to ADSL2+, same provider, location & hardware soon, will be interesting to compare.

e: This is at work. We've got a 1Gbps Telstra pipe into the office. Serves a whopping 20 people. Admittedly we're on youtube most, if not all the day :p

Droolworthy kikz.

Here's one for my work. We're on a 4 down 1 up wireless connection, so not too shabby considering.

We tried ADSL2+ but got slightly slower speeds. At least with the wireless we have the ability to upgrade to 100Mb connection (pay through the nose mind you).

So NBN when it comes will be great.
