Speedtest.net - How fast is your ISP?

Recommended Posts

Since you're on cable, you can probably upgrade to 100Mbps with no increase in your monthly cost.

Giggity giggity goo! ;)

How so? I'm on Telstra Cable.

Ring them up and ask to upgrade to Ultimate Cable. You'd be on Elite at the moment.

You may need to change plans, if the one you're currently on doesn't exist any more.

There's a one-off fee for the new modem too, can't remember what it was off the top of my head...

Internet has been stuck at 2.5Mb/s all week, finally got the modem working properly again.

I still can't figure out what happened...

Maybe I should run it from home instead of work?

1 door away from the exchange. 800m of cable between the exchange and my modem

it used to connect at 20Mbps but now it seems to ony connect at around 16Mbps. i'll have to look into that later

John Howard and every Telstra shareholder in the country say "You're welcome!"

Not sure if this is good or bad, on Optus adsl2+ I think, about half a K from the exchange (or is it a full km, damn map looks funny). 10 on the network, but at this time of night there would be very few.

new internet at work:

Up from 1500/256 - so literally 10x download speed - am very happy

Although I'm a little jealous. The best is usually reserved for home, but since i can't get adsl2+ at home i'm stuck with max line speed which hits around 9000/784.

AND FOR THE RECORD - It was TPG before we bought the business which was 12 years 2 days ago ;)

We had messages when attempting to email a week or so ago saying we were blocked due to previous abuse. Called TPG and they sorted that out and while on the phone they looked into our account and spotted that we were paying for ADSL2 but only configured for ADSL1. They flicked the switch and we went from about 5.6 to 12.6 in the time it took to reboot a modem.

I want to be on fibre so badly....

Oh, Kikz, I'm not jealous at all but I have a sudden urge to play with chemistry and you and chlorine and brake fluid.

Damn that's fast!
